We are not customers. It is a football CLUB. We are either Members of that CLUB, or visiting guests. FFS there is too much 'business' in football. What happened to a football club being for the community, run well and financially safely for sure, but ultimately for the local community of SUPPORTERS AND MEMBERS. I will NEVER be one of greedy-arsed Lowe's "customers. If he can't understand the difference between a customer at Asda and SFC then he is even dummer than I thought. Been saying this for years. Remember all too well how arrogant the club were when they banned my mate Carlo for moment of minor stupidity that intelligent stewardship might handled easily, took away his season ticket at a cost of £150 to him and then told him they might allow him to renew next season! That cost the club his and his wife's tickets as they were so disgusted they never renewed.. Customers when it suits them... Fans when it suits them... Sorry Rupert, sorry Mike... but it doesn't suit a lot of people right now... Edited 18 January, 2009 by Daren W
Belgiansaint Posted 18 January, 2009 Share Posted 18 January, 2009 Don't know if it's the right place to post, but anyway. I've had this on my chest for years. I lost all confidence in RL when Saints left The Dell. Remember he tried to sell the seats to the fans and wasn't allowed to by European legislation because the paint used to make the seats waterproof had been proved to be toxic - possibly cancerous - if kept in a confined environment (your kid's room, for example). I clearly remember reading on the OS back then that RL was furious against the "unelected Brussels' bureaucrats" (the most ridiculous criticism, by the way, as any european law has to be adopted by our elected governments but I won't go any§ further into that debate), while the legislation had in fact been vetted by the European Parliament - which happens to be the only democratically elected European body - at the express request of the industry involved. When you know the EP is the most "lobbied" place IN THE WORLD (Washington DC a distant second), this is not meaningless. Even UKIP - for which RL later unsuccessfully stood as a candidate -voted in favour of the legislation. I clearly remember this especially as I was working at the European Parliament at the time. I lost any sort of confidence in a man who deliberately lied and misused the wider pubic lack of factual information tu pursue his own personal agenda because he couldn't sell "souvenir seats" and have the fans forking out and promote his personal political agenda without putting people's health at risk. Colinjb Posted 18 January, 2009 Share Posted 18 January, 2009 We are a convinience to Lowe, and as such, your point is well made. F*ck him, F*ck his eccentric ideas and desires. All he wants is a resource to tap into to make his company work. Bad news, you missunderstand human nature. Lowe will fail, the sooner the better. In the Premiership he had a chance, but now, no hope in hell.
