Hello All.

I'm planning a walk for a group of friends, and one of the top requests is the source to sea for the River Hamble. There are many beautiful locations along the river, but one problem is that I've been given different search results for the source of the Hamble.

Has anyone completed the walk, or does anyone know of the definitive 'Official' source/start point?

I'd imagine you've seen this but most give it as near Bishop's Waltham as the source of the (previously named) Hamele

"The river has its origin above Bishop's Waltham in the junction of various brooks*"  (*ahem...assume not cup-tied!)

Edit: I knew this fella a few years back (decent footballer, Saints fan and I'm pretty sure he played for Southampton Boys back in the seventies), he's a river-keeper and walked the Test from source to Southampton Water

That looks like an incredibly Serene watch (and guide for future walks!).

And while I have already seen the map, I thank you for it!

The Old Hamlet of Dean is given as one of three sources I have seen, along with Vernon Hill and the 'boiling' waters of the Bishop's Waltham Moors!

Best to walk all three. Just to be sure.
