The 19 year old British rider has been killed in a crash at the cycling Tour of Portugal. It is reported that a camper van ignored Police traffic officers and drove into the race, heading in the opposite direction to the riders.

Too sad for words. The sport is dangerous enough as it is without vehicles going the wrong way down the parcours. Big shout out to commentator Jez Cox who had to announce the horrific news live yesterday. Great dignity and understandable emotion.
