exit2 Posted 1 April, 2009 Share Posted 1 April, 2009 I should think are all rubbing their hands now! Selling their shares for between 50p and 65p to Wilde and Crouch. I know hindsight is a wonderful thing but surely with the way things have been going most people would have know that the share price was on a continual fall. Are all those who sided with Lowe now kicking themselves? and in fact Lowe? Didnt Crouch make an offer at 65p a share for Lowes shares? And he said Yes on the condition you buy up all the rest of his allies? Now Wilde and crouch have lost between them approx £5m, who is that going to hit the hardest, I think we all know the answer to that? How many of these guys now wish they hadnt bothered to invest or listened to other people and kept their shareholding? People like Askham, Richards even Lawrie Mac will have to look seriously at their savings / pensions now as SLH shares did play a big part in that and now are worth **** all! You miss the point though... firstly Wilde never offered 65p a share to anyone, buts neither here nor there..... Whatever you think of Lowe, and Wilde and equally Crouich, they have never SOLD shares to make make money - those mentioned above have - as did the great Lawrie Mac - .... for whatever reason, these guys 'kept the faith'. Depending on our pOV we may not like Lowe, Wilde or Crouch but each in turn WANTED to be involved with Saints and do their bit for it - sure alot has been mismanaged and gone arse over tit and a complete dogs ear, but they have at least wanted to TRY and do ggod things for this club, even if they did not have the knowledge or experience to do so... that makes all three better that thosechancers who sold out the moment they could to pocket a wedge. Crouch not Lowe. Pay attention. But its a lovelly picture you paint of Lowe selflessly working for the good of the club. How lucky we are to have such a deligent dedicated chairmen. Truth is Lowes arrogance and Wildes gullability convinced them to wrestle control back for themselves only to sack potentialy our best manager since WGS and follow another of Ruperts flights of fancy involving Dutch 'total' football. Look, was not trying to paint any such picture, but be fair for a moment - these guys did not set out to feck up - none of them did, they have through varying degrees of mistakes and letting ego rule their heads or by following their hearts - not through some malice - thats the poiint I am trying to make, and from that perspective they at least did TRY... whereas the others mentioned took the money and ran the moment it was on the table...and no Crouch only made his offer to Lowe, not the rest of the Lowe camp which Lowe had said the offer must be made to - Pay attention ;-)

"Good try Rupert we know you did your best" "Hard luck old chum. Never midn you can come and sit with us now"

um pahars Posted 1 April, 2009 Share Posted 1 April, 2009 Do you know different? If not why have a go? LM sold most of his shares some time ago. It is common knowlege. I have no information one way or the other, but have to agree that maybe, just maybe, people should be prepared to substanitate the claim that Lawrie sold a large tranche of his shares not long after flotation. I have to say just because some "senior posters" have said so, it certainly doesn't make it a fact. In fact, I have always wondered just whether it was true or not, so perhaps it would be good to some evidence as opposed to just hearsay, so as to prove it one way or the other. NO problem with that, but hearsay and gossip has been the lifeblood of many a 'campaign' ;-)
