  1. I know his cousin and father through work, his parents live 5 minutes up the road from here. That said I haven’t seen them in ages so I am not much use and can forget entering the CoT.
  2. Pleased with Still becoming our new manager. Let’s hope Spors can give him the players he wants and we can shift some others. Looking forward to the new season.
  3. Talking of Wotte, he now coaches HVV, an amateur football club in the 6th tier of Dutch football (only the top 2 are professional).
  4. Mods can we have a poll who we want? With Rohl, Still, Cleverly (please not but has been mentioned quite a bit) or someone else.
  5. It’s a shame that besides us Leicester and Ipswich have been so poor. If one of them had a decent season we could have seen Spurs or United get relegated.
  6. For the people who say Still has no experience in the English leagues, Guardiola, Iraola, Slot, Frank, Pochettino and Koeman had no experience and did/are doing a great job. Arteta, Emery, Howe, Nuno and Silva have experience and are also doing a good job. Martin, Van Nistelrooy, Loptegui, had previous experience in Premier league as a player or manager and have failed. Conclusion, it can work out it can go horribly wrong. It’s not just the manager, it’s the whole set up at the club that has to be good for a manager to succeed. With the mess Sports Republic have made of the club I doubt even Klopp would have got a decent tune out of this (yes I believe we would have more then the 12 points we have now with him in charge, but still we would have been relegated). I like Still and think he could do a good job, just hope he can attract good players who believe he can make them better and help them move up in their career.
  7. Would be pretty pleased with Still becoming our new manager. Has done well in France and Belgium and doesn’t stick to one system. That said he’s young and we are coming of our worst season, so would need at least 1 experienced assistant to help him.
  8. And not to forget that absolute helmet goalkeeper of theirs Stephen Bywater.
  9. We could have that boat the guy in Bitterne built, that never left his backyard, on our crest. Certainly one of very few boats that never left Southampton.
  10. I would like to know why Kraft was removed/resigned whilst Ankerson is still around. What did Kraft do (or didn’t do) that he had to leave?
  11. I have to disagree with this. I was born in England and moved to the Netherlands at a young age. My schooling was in Dutch and at home I spoke English with my parents. It’s not as easy as it sounds even being brought up bilingual (and in Still’s case trilingual, he speaks Dutch/Flemish too). The build up of sentences and some words are easily mixed. Him switching from French to English is quite impressive.
  12. I listened to Blackmore’s show online and it was clear he was holding back. Talked about SR but definitely knew more what’s going on behind the scenes and went on last summer. Fact that he mentioned that Wilcox has more freedom at United then whilst at us was surprising.
  13. His communication is clear and not cringey like Jones.
  14. Has done well in France and Belgium. Don’t know how he likes to set up his teams and if it would work in the Championship.
