  1. You might want to forward that onto Ralph and the club because up until now they've clearly been keen on signing a striker whilst keeping Ings.
  2. If we spent near £15 million on a centre back who had just been relegated there is not a chance in hell it would be hailed as a great deal on here
  3. "Sticking with our square pegs in round holes philosophy I see" isn't pointing out we have entered into pre season slightly weak in certain areas, don't try and rewrite your own words. Scoffing is exactly what it was. The idea that we're "sticking" with playing Djenepo at LB as a philosophy is just bollocks. We've been after another full back all summer, we haven't got him yet but the idea that we're sticking with what we have as a philosophy is what you said and it's simply not true.
  4. I think it's more a case of just not being quite suitable for a high intensity game. Clearly talented but probably more suited to a side who wants the ball more often than not.
  5. people over reacting to a friendly, classic. Wasn't a "test" at all. Quite clearly about players getting 45 minutes and Djenepo being the only suitable player who can play left back other than the new guy, hence why we're trying to sign another. You utter wet wipes.
  6. That's because the standard of referees are higher. These are the best from their country too. As far VAR being quicker..again...it's what happens when you have dedicated VAR officials who are there to VAR only and not the numpties who haven't got a game this week.
  7. This isn't how it's done fwiw. There's not that much difference between the process, slightly thicker lines aside, but the big difference is UEFA don't allow broadcasters to show the process being done and just allow a final image to be released which is then up to the broadcaster whether they show or not. Decisions are still made more often than not with lines, but like I said, slightly thicker ones, you just get to watch the referee waiting for the decision rather than watching the lines doing the calculation. It's the same with European competitions and most other leagues. The PL felt that showing the process was required for transparency and instead it's just caused more trouble. The PL have decided to take on the Uefa approach in regards to the slightly thicker lines next year but I don't know if they have scrapped showing the process yet.

  9. Funniest thing is all the booing is just fuelling the awareness it needs. If you don't like it, just be quiet for 8 seconds. It'll go away quicker than booing it. But people who are defensive and desperate to be outraged cant bare being quiet for 8 seconds can they.
  10. Whether you like it or not and whether the players think it's doing any good whatsoever if you've spent this long watching matches from home thinking that as soon as you get back to a game you're going to boo something that inconveniences nobody at all you've seriously got to question your life choices. It's 8 seconds.
  11. As if we have the choice
  12. Anyone get the email today?
  13. It would stand. Goals have been scored with that part of the arm this season already.
  14. It's clearly this FWIW. Mings is calling for it, you can see the linesman consider putting his flag up when Ings collects it too but decides to see how the move pans out.
  15. The reaction in this thread already, mainly from MLG, really does highlight how weird it is seeing fully grown adults who neither know the player or what the club/manager is thinking tell them both what they should be doing. Very bizarre behaviour really and yes, I'm probably just as guilty of doing it myself but I read this story and have a real urge to just let both parties sort it out rather than spout opinions about how he should have played last week or should be going out on loan and shouldn't worry about not getting games for another 4 years (Which is an utterly nonsense opinion by the way, 19 year olds should want to play).
  16. Not happening. Relax.
  17. He's nowhere near as good as some people on here think he is, and having watched him coming on as a sub at Reading a few times, I can assure you he's not an ideal sub at all. The sooner he gets a permanent move the better for him.

  19. Why do you need transparency? As I said, it makes no difference to you, me or our fan base at all. The clubs involved and the FA would have had those meetings. It's quite clear the outcome of those meetings is we'll give Shrewsbury the chance to be in a position to have a squad by the weekend and if they don't it'll be called off, which is perfectly reasonable. I don't understand why people are concerned or particularly care. It'll sort itself out. The nature of the issue doesn't lend itself to a quick decision so have some patience and let them figure out what can and can't be played.
  20. Why? Why does it bother you? Literally, name one difference it makes to you? As for Saints, it makes barely any difference to them either. They'll get a few days notice to prepare for a game they've already prepped for to be played at the same time as another game. The club will know by Sunday/Monday which is when they'll turn their attention to Leeds/Shrewsbury anyway so there's no difference to our recovery or training program either. In the grand scheme of things actually I think it'll turn out to be one of the more simple fixture changes. If there was fans involved then yeah it would be farcical, but there isn't and so they can leave things until later in the day and be flexible. There's nothing ridiculous or farcical about it.
  21. Suspect (and could well be proved wrong tomorrow) that The FA will not be announcing anything until the weekend at least. If Shrewsbury can get a fit squad and some negative tests in by the weekend then the tie will be on, if not I suspect we'll get a bye and the Leeds game will stand. We're not dealing with fans here so announcements can be left late and I imagine all clubs will be kept in the loop and will know the score.

It's also the most flexible though.
