Can prove or disprove it here... https://public.tableau.com/profile/paul.riley#!/vizhome/PremierLeagueShotDashboard2016-17/PLShotDashboard2016-17

Good job there isn't already a thread for this. PS what a bloody awful screen grab of the source material that Kitman site has.
-
Eek! No away sock leak yet. Black would at least give it half a chance. I'm going to say "teal", but "Solent Green" might also work!
-
Unless we've got a new third kit we'll be wearing it again at Bournemouth next season.
-
Oh, one thing I haven't mentioned that's worth saying (ish) is the retention of the "five stripes" motif from this season is alive and well with the design on the shirt and shorts. Strange really that they haven't used it on the away kit.
-
It's black/navy and a weird dark green, plus we've just had a black away - not sure why anyone would like it tbh. The potential of needing a third kit is about its only positive point afaic, and that sort of marks it out as a little bit pointless.
-
It looks like it on the face of things, but that would mean a kit release was imminent though. You don't stock the store with the new kit without announcing it...
-
We won't need to change at Brighton or West Brom, they're predominantly blue including the back panel. Newcastle will probably depend on if they go with a white or black panel on the back. Spurs we can wear the away. Bournemouth will be the big problem (and does suggest the 3rd could be for sale and white).
-
And to think of the time I spent REMOVING the current collar from the mock-ups...
-
Oh and FWIW I love the home and think the away is in pretty dubious taste. We will definitely see a third kit for Bournemouth, and will be interested to see what we wear at Newcastle.
-
Just checked with my source, memory being what it is and all, he's confirmed the home is legit (and he didn't see the away, so no idea what the conversation we were having about yellow/navy, or the wing collar for that matter, was about - maybe keeper's shirt is yellow/navy).
-
Yeah, todosobrecamisetas.com are legit, they do occasionally get duped though.
-
Thats what I thought at first but there's a LOT of detail in that. Need to speak to my source...

Yes, I absolutely agree that not picking Clasie and Rodriguez was correct. Clasie was rotated in to rest the players who I'm pretty sure everyone agrees are first choice to play against the better sides. Not sure which game you're referring to re: Rodriguez, but he's clearly equal third choice behind Gabbiadini and Austin and alongside Long, so I wouldn't expect him to start often either. He also got to keep his place after the Bournemouth game when he scored a hat-trick, and was pretty dire against Spurs despite that being one of the few games last season where we were as rested as they were (albeit with another match 3 days later). We were losing to Inter at home and he switched Rodriguez for Austin, then when we went ahead pulled Tadic for Davis, does that count? I think it's the only time we came from behind all season, which is not entirely surprising given that we either didn't go behind to begin with, were playing sides we'd usually lose to, or were already at a disadvantage regarding fatigue before we started, in numerous cases. Though there is Long for Rodriguez half time and Sims for Redmond with 10 minutes to go up at Liverpool in the EFL semi...

You didn't address the issue, which was someone complaining we didn't play the reserves often enough, because the reserves are better than the first team. Also that we should expect to beat Man City more than we should expect to beat West Brom. And, implied, that we shouldn't bother picking the best players against Man City because it's a waste of time. Oh, and of course Saints appointing Allardyce absolutely isn't happening at any point under the current structure.
-
So you're saying you DON'T think playing Man City is more difficult than playing West Brom? I should also point out that one of the only criticisms of anything specific Puel has done this season earlier in the thread was picking a weak side against West Brom at Xmas. So those would be the same second stringers you're saying should be the first team, right? Such random scatterbomb complaints. People moaning he rotates, people moaning he doesn't pick enough backups.
-
Yeah, I think it's fair comment that Forster should have done better with the free-kick, it wasn't anywhere near in the corner.
-
I don't think his agent expects Saints to make him the centre of our project - if he does he's in for a shock based on all of our transfer dealings in the past 3-4 years. We don't sign players over 27 and we don't buy players we can't try and improve and sell at a profit. Anything's possible though.
-
Isgrove makes sense, he's already done relatively well in League One and you'd expect Blackburn to be one of the bigger names in there this season. Along with Wigan, Bradford, Plymouth and Blackpool. There might be another one that thinks they're a big name but I can't think of them at the moment. I can't see Martina signing for a L1 side unless absolutely nobody comes in for him, and that seems unlikely given his experience at Saints. He also has some allies at Everton which might get him another couple of years, but it depends on whether they're in for bigger names with the money they're meant to have. I'd be surprised if none of the promoted sides were interested at the very least. Think of the shirt sales in Curacao.
-
No idea, it's all speculation at the moment. I will say he's not really the kind of player we usually sign - he's older, more expensive in terms of wages and he probably won't have a sell-on value if we gave him (say) a 3 year deal. So on that basis I don't think we'd be back in for him. But if we were impressed with his attitude, which is a huge element in the club's decision to sign players, and can get him cheaper that might change things...

Super... it's funny this year because in March they were just "what would people like to see?" ideas, and now it turns out they're actually doing one of them pretty much as designed. They should get me in on commission or something. 2018/19 Conventional plain stripes with a red/white only shirt (white square patch on the back) and dark navy shorts, and a navy away kit. 2019/20 Candy stripes for the season after along with an amber and black away kit like in the early 70s 2020/21 we can start sodding around with the hummel Denmark retro 2021/22 Back to normal stripes - maybe a 2001 "20 years at St Mary's" homage with the thinner stripes with black pinstripes between them 2022/23 Last year of the UA deal, so what the hell, how about a Pony tick homage of disgustingness just to show how they've completely run out of ideas? 2023/24 Whoever takes over will give us a garbage old template from the year before so expect striped but below average. 2024/25 140th Anniversary St Mary's YMA quarters, or I guess the sash could make a comeback 15 years on. Ok, that's all my ideas done...

Nothing much he could do about the winner, free header from rapidly delivered cross he'd never have got to anyway and no time to react to it after the header either.
-
The main element of luck in the whole final goal was the touch they got on the edge of the box to stop us clearing it before it broke to the right wing. Still, we SHOULD have been the stronger side.

Incidentally, United had 4 days before, they moved their game forward to the Wednesday to give them an extra day over what they'd have had if they'd played on the Thursday. And they were already 3-0 up in the game played on the Wednesday, so they were able to rest 6 players, making the following changes: S Romero/D de Gea D Blind/M Rojo M Carrick/A Herrera A Young/J Lingard H Mkhitaryan/L Valencia M Fellaini/A Martial Now I'm fairly sure if we had the likes of Carrick, Mkhitaryan and Blind in reserve we'd probably be doing better too. But that's basically the point, money buys better players.
