  1. I know coming back from relegation would be difficult but surely "well and truly done for as a club" is a bit over the top?
  2. Vardy turned down a move to arsenal guys
  3. Still think Adams and Danso can come good to be fair. But obviously he's stuck to the policy of buying players for the future rather than ones who can come straight into the team
  4. Genuine question: Are Yoshi and Bednarek good enough in the air to play together? Is this why Ralph is persisting with Vest?
  5. We simply don't know what's gone on behind the scenes. I'd rather have some odd looking decisions then have a manager who is unable to force players to play as a team because the players know they can walk into the team based on ability
  6. In fairness bompey sat back on their lead and packed the midfield, so things would have been different if we'd started the game properly. And last season tells us that we perversely do better against the good teams than the bad teams
  7. Both Souness and Jones oversaw excellent recruitment but disappointing league positions, if i remember rightly
  8. Lineker is at least a very competent presenter. It's Alan Shearer who could be replaced by many other cheaper alternatives
  9. From sky: Nick Wright at St Mary's: "What a superb performance this has been from Jannik Vestergaard, by the way. As well as scoring the equaliser, the big Dutch centre-back ranks top for interceptions and blocks. He has been a colossus for the home side so far."
  10. He won't get his transfer if he refuses to sign a contract because we have an exclusive option to buy. He'd have to stay at Augsburg. I'd imagine the contract terms are already agreed to prevent us having him over a barrel. If he pulls a Toby i could see us buying him and them immediately selling him on for a higher fee. Or is that banned now?
  11. The point being that we didnt really think we were going to sign him (or anyone else?) until it suddenly became concrete on the last day?
  12. I think we've played this quite well. We've given him a fair chance to leave and if it doesnt happen then he'll have to come back and reintegrate
  13. I don't know how these things work. Would they pay his wages as well as the fee?
  14. And Les got pelters in both scenarios
  15. You only think they are top quality because he has made them that way. How many of his Saints players went on to be good at other clubs/Liverpool?
  16. Plus Poch has the team overperforming and if he leaves, it could all fall apart quite dramatically
  17. What all of this is is a negotiation. Both sides are trying to make the other one blink. A compromise will be found
  18. Good example, though we're getting away from the point that people are whinging about players having too much power when players actually have less power than 90% of employees
  19. I meant outside of the sporting industry
  20. Like any other job. Football clubs actually have more power over their employees than in any other industry I can think of
  21. Couple of brilliant goals at the start of this:
  22. Or just reduce the transfer fee so the buying club can afford his wages?
  23. You're right to question some of the players named but: Boufal - celebrated mockingly in front of his manager after scoring a goal, refused to warm up in another game Lemina - we've only heard his side of the story - the "promise" received may not have been quite so concrete as he is making out Cedric - Pretty clear from ITK info that Ralph was unimpressed by his attitude. E.g. spending time on his phone in the treatment room rather than talking to a fellow player. Perhaps there are other things as I can't believe he would have been banished from the squad solely on playing ability
  24. His knees won't allow him to train properly, so you take what you get with him, a la Paul McGrath
