Is he any good? The 2021/22 highlights video I watched only has one world class save and the rest are all pretty standard. The video only shows saves and doesn't show any crosses caught etc. Much like Baz, he doesn't look the biggest keeper.
  2. ...and THB and Downs...and Archer
  3. He probably thinks of himself as a cabinet maker not a chippie.
  4. Maybe. He's had a very bad run of injuries, and signing a player when he is injured is just madness IMO, but I'm not writing him off. I think in our current situation it probably makes sense to run with the three we have (hoping Stewart clicks again) and then reboot in the summer.
  5. If Ipswich offered £20m now, which they won't, I think we'd be tempted. Players like McCarthy and Aribo will see their contracts out because they will earn more here than at their next club and will get better deals in the summer when available on frees. What is going on with Edozie. Has he even made the bench?
  6. He looked good prior to his latest injury, so it will be a real boost to have him back. If he is fit, then he could be just what we need.
  7. Not sure its a disgrace. Certainly it's ridiculous. I mean, you don't have to buy it. Maybe I am old, but £120 sure seems like a massive sum of money for a piece of tat like this. I know retro football shirts became items of fashion in recent years, but who is buying one of these? If they had any sense they'd of released it before xmas not after.
  8. The shirt looks alright. Nothing special though. I've no idea why anyone would buy it at that price. Some have more money than sense I suppose. Think I'd just buy the non branded retro one rather than this. Each to their own. There's something a bit weird about Puma copying an Admiral shirt. I think I just don't like any footie shirts that Puma design.
  9. HDJAJFU?
  10. Sounds like Charlton will likely extend the loan then, but it's the club's (SFC) decision not his of course. If Jelert is now fit, then we won't need Bree in terms of numbers.
  11. Is Bree returning this month?
  12. I can. We spent a shit load in the summer, signed a lot of players and have a sizeable squad. It's hardly surprising three or four haven't signed in this window already.
  13. I guess in recent times the signing Quarshie has shown a slight change in philosophy, favouring physical attributes over ball skills. Before that Ramsdale was signed for his shot stopping ability not his skills on the ball. Not sure anyone signs a midfielder for his tackling these days.
  14. That makes sense. I am sure he looked classy at that level. And when you are a top flight club, a centre back that is good on the ball is something you are looking for, but that has to come with the basic attribute of being good in the air. You have to have someone dominating in the air at the back and he doesn't look capable of that.
  15. Do you mean he is likely to be sold because we have loaned a keeper?
  16. I notice Brereton has scored just two in 21 for Derby and immediately thought to myself that he will be back here next season. Checked his stats and surprisingly he has started most games. They play him behind the striker mostly, which might explain his lack of goals even at this level. Maybe they will take him off our hands if we offer a sweet deal?
  17. Hard to get past Kieffer Moore bossing him on the opening day of the season. Edwards showed he wasn't great in the air and wasn't very quick either. For me, winning headers is essential for a cb, so I struggle to understand how he earned such a good reputation at Peterborough.

It's unusual for us to bring in a player where we have enough bodies already, so does that mean Long's season long loan will be cut short or will we just run with four first team keepers?
  19. a bemuda triangle where Faraj and the money reside
  20. What's with the empty triangle? have they just placed the left and right edges together?
  21. I wonder if five at the back by its nature allows crosses? If you want to stop crosses you need to double up on the flanks a bit more, but you don't have the bodies out there to do that.
  22. Tonda seems to want them to play in and out from our own six yard box too. And we've scored a couple of brilliant one end to the other team goals as a result. At championship level, it's possible for our players to do it. The question I have is can we switch it up a little, like Liverpool do, going through the two CMs, or pinging it straight up to the attackers and play off them, or playing a ball over the top/in between cb and full back? If a team nullifies our formation, can we do something else or do we keep banging our head against a brick wall?
  23. is Fraser able to play on the right? I recall him playing there in preseason, but cant recall since.
  24. not sure Robinson does the defensive stuff well enough, but I might be wrong. Fraser is better defensively, will work and get up and down, but he is pretty basic with the ball and wont dribble well like Robinson.

i'm not a fan of 5 at the back, but he was pretty ineffective as a winger. There is more limited space to work, often teams double up on him and all he did was come inside. Perhaps starting runs from deeper and usually in a position between winger and fullback helps him. There is less onus on him to provide end product too. we just need him to get us moving, which he has done well.
