  1. I was referring to Crook and if this fella was on the radio (I thought that was implied) doing the same thing, then him also. If he wasn't , then I'm just talking about Crook.
  2. why are they loaning James out? Seems a strange move. I'm not a big fan, he's super fast, but end product is often limited...but don't they need a squad player like him?
  3. felt like that train had sailed when we said no in January and they then spent on Botmann earlier in this window, but if he still hasn't signed a new deal, the club may feel now is the time to sell, maybe. Would cover our expenditure, which we need to do at some point in the next year or two.
  4. Let journalists do all the hard work unearthing and writing transfer stories, find them on twitter/Google search, then, effectively regurgitate what they have written, passing the `news' off as your own. Become known as an expert on a `club'. Stealing a living. But then again, if someone is willing to pay for those words, fair enough.
  5. sounds like it to me. Or is Sangerre going?
  6. two out, two in. Simeu out on loan again and Valery off. Starting to get the right kind of number of CB as we had far too many.
  7. Simply not trusted/rated at RB by Ralph.
  8. the two new City fellas that we may sign today look the opposite, in terms of strength and size, one small and one thin, but hopefully they can really play.
  9. Looks the same player to me. Busy, some nice dribbles... It was a nice goal against Chelsea, decent first touch and finish, all be it with a deflection, but there were other things, like when he tried to curl one into the top corner but ended up scuffing/under hitting it right down the middle, that were similar to what he was doing last year. I don't see a `way better' player. To be honest, I thought he was written off too early last year and there was always hope he might regain his confidence in the summer and do something this season. Maybe we need to judge him over a longer period (this season) though. He was flying when scoring against Everton and Villa and getting a pen at Newcastle too...but it didn't last. Still plenty to prove.
  10. He has been shopped around by his agent for £8m all summer. Surprised to see this £12m-15m figure suddenly appear. It's impossible to know what is accurate these days.
  11. Arsenal ain't letting him go. They need cover for Jesus. He's next man up.
  12. Likewise. In the WBA game against us two seasons ago he ran the show. Great first touch and seemed to be everywhere. Nice passing and ability on the ball. But that's the only game I've watched him closely really.
  13. the difference on Tuesday to a lot of last season was how much quicker the central midfield seemed, enabling them to get tighter and make tackles and interceptions. We needed much more intensity in that area - with `Kalvin Phillips type hussling' of opponents. JWP and Romeu just didn't offer enough of that often enough last season. I wonder if AMN will provide more of that.
  14. Someone wanted Ori. If no one wants Redmond and Walcott, what can you do?
  15. paves the way for AMN signing announcement. First the bad news, ow the good news.
  16. In the end, I think we both agree, we could do with bringing Broja back. 😉
  17. those two clubs have been linked with him for two years too. Might well just be regurgitated links. Who knows.
  18. I'm gonna have to go back to his youtube video. I seem to recall when we discussed him two years ago he was a monster. Not super quick, but a proper powerful defender. From what I have read he hasn't performed well over the last two years, which is a concern, but not seen him so don't know how accurate that is.
  19. A number 10 is no longer an attacker? I'm getting old.
  20. you said, and I quote: "we have failed to bring an attacker in". Mara is a new attacker that we have brought in, ergo you must have have forgotten about him. Some on here said Broja was a waste of space at the end of last season. So with him gone and Mara in, are we weaker than we were at the end of last season? I'm a huge fan of Broja, so would agree with you, that we are weaker than last season `as a whole', but its early days and Mara may be a revelation as we progress.
  21. In terms of bodies, Aribo was also added too to play in the attacking third. However I get your point and the fact we have bid for Gakpo says we were trying for another attacker. We may not have a huge number of options, but at least the likes of Che and Armstrong are doing OK at the moment. Ten weeks until the next window opens. Hopefully their form gets even better not worse.
  22. They bought Mara. It's amazing how quickly that is forgotten. He might not be the £40m striker, but he is an attacker. Sure we thought another would come in, and he still might, but the club has invested in the forward line. Not sure what you mean by acceptable. Acceptable to who, you?
  23. Thats a very good point. And why would they put a £34m sale at risk by playing him? Are they selling Sangere to Chelsea now which is why they don't need the money? Very strange.
  24. from his post match comments, it didn't sound like it.
  25. No easy to have two or three £30m deals just ready to rock and roll. Not sure how accurate this is but the media pointed to us starting at Broja, then Delap, then Ramos, then Gakpo, so we haven't put our eggs in one basket, we've gone for several options, but not managed to pin any one down yet. It happens. You only have to look at the difficulty United have had in recent years to get the right player in to know how hard it must be for clubs like us.
