  1. I have no problem with Armstrong getting more game time. He started brightly, before his form and confidence dipped and it can easily return. However, there is still a lot of football to play, not least an FA Cup match, which although incredibly tough, is still winnable. Broja is the ideal player for a team hitting teams on the break - as we will be against City. Maybe he's not ideally suited to games where opponents drop men deep and limit the space behind for him to play in. I have to say I am surprised just how quickly some on here (no saying you specifically) seemed to have turned on him after a few under par performances.
  2. Because we ain't got anyone better. We signed Lyanco on a shoestring and got what we paid for. Stephens looks he's carrying a midlife spread, and Valery isn't ever going to make a top class CB. It sounds like Dynel Simeu is finding his feet at Carlise. Kayne Ramsey (no idea why he was given an extended pro contract) isn't going to make the leap from Ross County to the Prem overnight/ever. Salisu could well leave in the summer, so CB will be very much a position of need.
  3. Bollocks. We lost. We weren't god enough to break them down. We got done by two deep crosses. But `abysmal performance'? Nah.
  4. he looked sharp. Confidence coming back. He has been written off far too early.
  5. Newcastle have been a good form. They hardly got out of their own half. If we could defend a deep cross we may have won. We couldn't and then didn't have enough quality to create chances to draw level. No complaints from me. Thought we did OK overall. Obviously we lacked a cutting edge, but there was no lack of graft. Very disappointed with the result, not the performance.
  6. No idea why he plays ahead of KWP at right back.
  7. I thought that was the chance. Excellently crafted again. We've not been great, but we've not been terribly either.
  8. Like you said, we don't look like scoring. Sadly.
  9. is a player has cramp, fuck him. Should just be fitter. You don't stop and wait for a player that is slower than you, so why stop for a player that is less fit?
  10. except then when we were a nails width from scoring...possibly offside mind.
  11. Agreed. He hasn't tried to beat a man since he returned. Perhaps he is not fully sharp. Still unsure why we have changed the winning side with Perroud and KWP.
  12. Agreed. The side is working hard, trying to create, but just unable to. No one looks disinterested. Just a lazy comment.
  13. Oops, sorry, I forgot no one is allowed to criticise your darling Forster.
  14. don't understand that substitution. Romeu for Long? Got to try something I guess.
  15. Forster absolutely fucking killing us there.
  16. Awful? We are losing. But not sure we playing that bad.
  17. not easy to break a Prem team down when they have a lead.
  18. working incredibly hard to create a chance. Need these strikers to come up with something.
  19. great patient stuff there. Almost got Broja in. Gonna be tough from here. No space to play in.
  20. same thing happens again. Livramento can't defend the deep ball.
  21. Balls. Livramento doesn't do enough to win the header. Done by a big lad again.
  22. not a great half by his standards. A couple of mis controls when trying to hold the ball up. Might have scored if he had managed to bring an all be it tough ball down. Pretty quite too. He needs some space to run into.
  23. Agree. Ball too fast for Forster to come off his line. I think Salisu makes a slight wrong move towards the ball (just before the cross) and is then a fraction out of position and done for. Not enough pressure on Shelvey from Romeu too.
  24. We have controlled possession and worked the ball really well to get players to the byeline countless times, but all crosses cut out due to number of defenders. We've looked pretty good. Not a lot of room to play in the final third. They look dangerous on the break and could have gone ahead. Could go either way this.
  25. I think their strategy has been to play Livramento because he looked better than KWP in pre-season and then when he shined to keep playing him, until he got injured. Players are not picked to be in the shop window, they are picked to win games.
