  1. Once we went behind we seemed completely clueless. Before we looked the better side and just clueless in the final 3rd. I’m very worried about our strikers, we need a premier league striker. JWP is not on form at all. It’s a strange one because after the 0-0 at City which we should and could have won, today was way under par considering. Man City in their last 5 home games have scored 5/5/6/6 with our 0-0. Very strange.
  2. Draw at Man City which we should have won and then lose at home to Wolves!
  3. 🤷🏽
  4. This has died a death this one!
  5. Very half hearted attempt that was!
  6. Footballers are not the brightest are they! Let’s use that well worked free kick from the training ground when we are already well over the 1 minute stoppage time. Rather than humping it into the box and maybe nicking a goal 🙄
  7. We have so many players that can run with the ball. At Newcastle the confidence seemed so high, with straight forward running at them. Does not seem to be there at home!
  8. Sloppy!
  9. Liked make the save so much, wants to make more.
  10. We kicked off and went up one place in the table. Woohoo!
  11. Back to league action this afternoon at the same time as the men’s team as they take on London Bees who are 7th in the table. The Bees have not won in their last 3. Saints are 2nd in the table, but with a win today they would go back to the top on goal difference with 6 wins out of 6 the same as Ipswich, who are also looking pretty good. Perhaps this was the chance that they could have moved the women’s kick off time so they could have had it before or after the men’s game at St Mary’s to really promote the women’s game? kick off is 2pm in Totten! LONDON BEES
  12. Right I’m here to cheer you up just before kick off, with our history against the teams we are playing. On paper the first part always seems ok, but then the recent history seems terrible. 😬 OVERALL RECORD Saints 28 wins Wolves 24 wins Draws 18 LAST 15 AT HOME Saints 7 wins Wolves 5 wins Draws 3 LAST 6 AT HOME Saints 1 win Wolves 4 wins Draw 1 I’m going for a 2-0 win today as Wolves are very poor, we have improved as a defensive unit, but feel Wolves are not going to keep a clean sheet. Enjoy everyone 🎈
  13. Oh FFS! The wait goes on!
  14. Oh that’s good half term week. Fancy taking the boy to his first cup match, so Preston or Sunderland away please.
  15. I did at one stage think as fans we were lining ourselves up for a huge fall. But in the end it was good. One fan stood on his seat for most the game and was giving it large. Don’t think he watched any of the game. He gave it all to them though!
  16. Fantastic stuff. We gave our all on the pitch and the fans gave it to City for sure. Great day, but boy I’m shattered!
  17. STATS CORNER Stats for the game - Every time I do these it seems to be grim reading, but here goes. Overall record (head to head) Man City won 38 Drawn 25 Saints won 32 Now Recent Away Record - We have picked up 1 point in the last 12 visits to Man City. That is dismal! 😬 The last 12 Man City won - 11 Drawn - 1 (2016/17) Saints won 0 The 12 before this are a completely different story, but they were a completely different Man City team/club. Man City won - 2 Drawn - 4 Saints won - 6 Out of these 6 wins there was a back to back, the very last ever game at Maine Road 0-1 (2002/2003) and the first for Saints at the City of Manchester Stadium 1-3 (2003/2004) I was at both of these 2 games and Saturday will be my first visit since the last win at Man City, but Everton was my first visit since Kevin Davies scored that wonder goal in 1997, so don’t get your hopes up! Also I was thinking 🤔 money 💰 it really does help!
  18. Saints progress in the cup! it was closer than expected though. https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2021-09-12/womens-report-cheltenham-town-vs-southampton-fc-national-league-cup-2021-22
  19. Not another league game until Sunday 26th, when we are home to London Bees. Cup game this weekend and then international week. The cup game is against Cheltenham Town FC who play in the league lower FA Women’s National League South West Division, and have a pretty good set up in women’s football (link below if any are interested). It could be a massive score, but might be a good time to play some fringe platers. But maybe not with international week the week after. Sunday 12th Sept - 2pm DON’T KNOW WHY I AM POSTING THIS AS YOU CANNOT FOLLOW IT ANYWHERE, BUT YOU GET THE FULL TIME SCORE ABOUT HALF HOUR AFTER THE GAME. http://www.ctlfc.com/club/our-club/ CHELTENHAM T SOUTHAMPTON SUN 12 SEP 2PM
  20. Southampton v West - History. Overall - Saints wins - 34 Drawn - 31 West Ham wins - 46 We had a pretty impressive home record between 1995 and 2016, only losing once in 15 games, but then from 2017 we have only won once at home to the hammers in 5 games. So about time to put that right, but I’m going for a draw as there has been a far few of them. 2-2. AT HOME 1995 - 2016 Saints Wins - 8 Draws - 6 West Ham wins - 1 2017 - Present Saints Wins - 1 Draws - 1 West Ham wins - 3
  21. Some would call it cyber bullying at times! But I will leave the old threads alone. I have been a very naughty so and so apparently. 🙄
  22. They are in a league lower and independent because Southampton FC did not have a women’s team linked to the club until 2017. But because the independent club is solely a women’s club the coverage is far better as it is not seen as a “little side product”. Southampton FC need to see the bigger picture and buy into it a little more.
  23. This is what I was saying. The official Southampton FC site gave the final score as 0-8 for an hour! The Twitter feed had nothing during the game and nothing at all even at full time. Even the Facebook page did not put the score up for about 2/3 hours after the game. It is frustrating as the other Southampton team have a Twitter feed that gives up to date action from the game. All in the club could be doing much much more!
  24. It would be good if the club would have the women’s team play before the men’s team if they have a home game on a Sunday and the women do as well. It would be an amazing experience for team. Or even do it independently for say the home game against the skates, just make it at St.Mary’s and promote it, better than the England game!
