  1. England U21 0-0 Slovenia U21 - 55 mins Pretty even at the moment.
  2. Alan Curtis - Southampton Sports Centre, on the trampoline, next to the helter-skelter, 1986. I suppose not that weird as he played for Saints, but the circumstances are strange to me now and back when I was 11/12 even more weird, as he seemed to be on his own!
  3. Gary Lineker - Chippy Bedford Place - early 90s - unconfirmed.
  4. It was a great final, which we could have and should have won, after a pretty bad first 25 minutes. Even though we did have a goal ruled that should not have been. I drove down from Carlisle and back the same day, as I did for the play off final!
  5. Nope, we’ll have not renewed since 2018. I moved to Cumbria in 2015 and had my season ticket since 2001 up to that point, but I could not justify it any longer. So not had a season ticket since then and only been to around 4/5 home games in 10 years. Now a northern saint I go to the majority of northern games from midlands up with my boy. I pop along to Carlisle home games, but their season has been just as depressing as ours. Also keep an eye out for Penrith, Royston, and Torquay, but the 2 latter do not travel north, until they get higher up the non league. I do not think I require a season ticket for any reason that would benefit me! I can get tickets, it is not a problem.
  6. He will achieve at least a top 2 finish, but a lot will hinge on Europe and getting through the qualifying. I think he will do well with his style of football with more quality and the fact it is a high level in Scotland. It’s hard to fail, but failure will be not being above Celtic.
  7. Oh on another note, I did not watch match of the day once this season! Used to be a must watch, but I have watched loads of lower and non league games. Says it all. Also not interested the champions league, even though my 13 year old son bangs on about it… all the time. I end up turning around to him and talking about Royston Town or Torquay. We are foreign to each other 😂
  8. It will be interesting to see how he gets on, but I follow Hibs 😀
  9. I have a massive connection to the Netherlands 🇳🇱 and love the place. Would love to live there. Went there for the first time at the age of 12 with school on the Nijmegen walks. 25 miles a day for 4 days. Big event. Then I was back last year of school more for the attractions around Amsterdam. (Not the adult ones though) Been back loads with 3 places I have worked having head offices there, and then met my now wife, and she used to go with her family to Duinrell in Wassenaar, which we have visited 5/6 times with our own kids. Day visits from there to keukenhof tulip gardens. The Madurodam model village. Since then found out that my surname comes from the Netherlands, but mostly Scotland. You cannot win them all. oh and NEC were the first foreign team I watched live abroad. 😀
  10. That was my point.
  11. He would do well there, with a top side in that league. I bet they would at least have a top 2 finish and would be better than this season. The style of football suits Celtic more though.
  12. Have not been interested this season in the premier league. It is a snore fest. I tend to look abroad and the lower leagues for my teams. Oh and Scotland. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 NEC - Nijmegen 🇳🇱 Hibs - 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Carlisle - north and where I live Torquay - first team I ever watched live at a game in Torquay on a family holiday. Royston Town - Where I used to live and where my wife and good friends live. AFC Totten - Local small club near Southampton Eastleigh - used to be Swaythling FC and where I grew up in the flower estate.
  13. Time seems to have stood still on this one!
  14. Thank you. It was painful. Looking forward to a stag do at the end of the month where we are walking it. But then drinking plenty afterwards. Very middle aged stag do!
  15. Thank you. I appreciate it 😀
  16. 13 hours 45 minutes. 334 out of 683, with 156 not finishing. I got a silver medal for being between 200-400 across the line. So I took part and finished the Pennine Barrier Ultra 50 miler, which included the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, as I wanted to do 50 miles at the age of 50. It was brutal, epic and an amazing experience. After 21 miles I could have quit, as I had nausea, felt shaky, jaw was hurting, hamstring twinging, and just felt out of it, while laid out on a grass verge in the sun ☀️ I think I might have over fuelled on carb gels in the first 15 miles and my stomach and body was not having it. Glad I did not quit as 4 miles later just after Ribblehead viaduct I felt brilliant and was right back on it. The rest of the ultra was the same as any other long run but the rollercoaster of the highs and lows were more amplified from feeling great to questioning my life choices, sometimes within minutes. Thank you to everyone who has voiced their support before, during and after the event, but a special shout out to Adrian Jones & Sally Jones for the lend of their camper-van, which made the trip more comfortable and logistically possible, and to Shelli Margett & Lee Margett for having Fraser Sim for a couple of nights. Of course the biggest shout out goes to Liz Sim for looking after me, with her skillful driving on the country one track roads, spaghetti bolognaise the night before for my carb stores, a massive smile and a hug (even though I was smelly) at the end. She had a cheese and onion roll, a bag of salt and vinegar crisps and a litre of tea for the drive home. The last week challenges were a little different, the home stairs! Seems harder than the Yorkshire 3 Peaks! 🤨. And not a blister under my big toe which keeps coming back. The big toe seems to just float on top the blister, and I cannot wear and footwear with enclosed toes. Even though I enjoyed it overall I will stick with half marathons up to 30/35 miles from now on! 😀 ❤️ 🏃‍♂️ I do not have a target for fundraising I thought I would raise anything I could for Mind, so if you can give, this is my last shout, and thank you all and especially those who have already donated. You are Saints! https://www.justgiving.com/page/kevin-sim-4?utm_source=SFMC&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=FR-heroes_FRPo_Overall-Weekly_uk_varA&mi_u=13484221&mi_ecmp=FR-heroes_FRPo_Overall-Weekly_uk_varA
  17. We have been in the Premier League, we are not Scottish or gone back to 2007! All that aside I think SMS has been a toxic place, but probably more in the last relegation. This time around we have just been a terrible side in a league that is far too strong for us. I doubt Leicester are looking much better, and then Ipswich.
  18. Hi all, I am taking part in the GB Ultras Pennine Barrier Yorkshire 3 Peaks 50 miler and raising money for the charity Mind. If you can donate then that would be great. I was not going to raise any money but this is the only time I plan on doing 50 miles. https://www.justgiving.com/page/kevin-sim-4?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL&utm_campaign=015 Thank you ☺️
  19. Well I never! I knew West Ham were rubbish, but my oh my.
  20. I think they should be ran as one football club. Southampton FC. Then all the teams under the umbrella of said club. As some have said in the past, one crappy signing by the mens team would/could have funded the women’s team for a few seasons. Come on we are all one Southampton FC, that is who I support no matter what gender. As far as I knew this is the case, so not sure what this calling in debts is about? below is why they get the supported needed financially. Newcastle United Women's team is officially part of Newcastle United Football Club. This change occurred in August 2022, following a restructuring of the club. The women's team previously operated with the support of the Newcastle United Foundation, but now they are under the full ownership of the main club.
  21. 3-0 West Ham. They are completely awful.
  22. Went out for a hike with the family up High Pike. After 65 minutes I checked and it was 0-0. I looked at stats and could see we were getting battered on possession and shots on and off target. I said once we go one down, we will collapse and lose 0-3. We are fecking terrible and my Villa fan neighbour did not even register it I don’t think. Nothing to him with their champions league quarter final, FA Cup semi final and chasing the champions league place in the league. Beating us was a given. I heard some Saints fans saying they fancied 3 points today, now that is dulusion, Villa are a class side and way above our level, and to think we were pretty even when Gerrard left and we sacked Ralph and look at the directions of our clubs since. That is the owners!
  23. The owners of our club do not have a flipping clue, this has been shown over and over again since the sacking of RH. I do not trust them to make the right choice. The fact that the managers above have completely different footballing styles just proves that they are clueless and do not having a vision of the way forward. I am at this stage very worried and would prefer them to say that the club is up for offers to be bought.
  24. Dr Who?

    Ivan Juric

Sack the bloody lot of them. The club is rotten from the top down. Rotten to the core. We need to put pressure on the board, hopefully find a buyer, get shot of this useless manager and shift out the deadwood of talentless players who which most have their heads so far up their own arses they cannot hear the music playing. I am fed up of players who are not playing for the shirt because they do not give a shit about the club, and in turn the paying supporters. Just about had enough. It also causes friction in the fan base at games. I don’t give a shit about in here because most of you lot would argue over the colour of the sky!
  25. Same old rubbish. We have a manager with a worse record than Jones. Get him out, now!
