The way the police have sat back and done not allot it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they will give a few people the 5 o'clock knock based on the CCTV evidence they get rather than steaming in trying to Nik people now.

Lol you do have a way with words. There is a report on SSN.com with cotts asking Balu to trust him with more cash! If Balu has any access to the wage bill and cash flow he might flatten his wallet some more.

I think thats one area that the law doesnt make sense. The Minority crowd were being protected by the police as they were under threat from the larger crowd. Yet if english fans go abroad we are treated like the hostile mob and get treated like the trouble is all our fault. In either situation the old bill should treat everyone the same and if they are going to nik saints fans for throwing something, then they should be doing the same to the oposing fans. These situations are not completly one sided and should not be treated as if they are.
-
Pompey did no wrong either as in a court of Law and in front of Justice Mann they were given the green light to carry on as they were. All makes sense now. ;o)

Did I say he shook a fence? The police went for him for a reason so he must of been on there radar for something though. The fact that they couldnt prove anything in court is either cause they have the wrong man or there is no hard evidence to prove what they say. I said along time ago that the Police will need to prove people did something to be able to get them sent down. Any solicitor should be able to get someone off if there is a lack of evidence!!! Assuming he is completly inocent, next time he goes to a footy match and there is a dividing fence how likly is he to put himself in a position where he is at risk of being nabbed again? Does he go and stand with the people shaking the fence and throwing things or does he stand somewhere else that is not likly to be associated with the idiots? IMO he would be stupid not to think twice, along with every other footy fan that finds themselves in a similar situation.
-
Bet he thinks twice next time he see's a fence at a footy match though, along with the other few hundred people who thought it might have been a good idea.
-
I would be suprised if anyone gets sent down without there actually being any evidence of them doing something wrong. Shaking a fence sounds pretty pathetic, but I suppose the old bills angle is 1 person starts to shake a fence, others think its a good idea and join in, fence gives in and everyone piles in for a ruck on the street. While that didnt actually happen for what ever reason the old bill are probably arguing the intent was there. Punish the one's who intentially or un-intentially started the possible scenario and maybe next time there is a local derby with a dividing line, oposing fans will respect the boundrys a bit more and lower the risk of a brawl even further? IMO the dividing line between oposing fans at any football match actually adds to the chances of the situation getting out of hand. The Cup final in 2003 had saints and arsenal fans mixing in pubs all over Cardiff with out any problems and police were visable but relaxed. The world cup had un-segregated stadiums for all matches including England v Germany where we got stuffed. How many England V Germany games in the past have gone on without any problems? You could argue that the mongs didnt get a chance to get over there and cause trouble for the World cup but removing segregation has not been tried other than some pretty meaningless friendlys so its hard to know if it would help locally or not.

I didnt point the finger at anyone in particular and didnt just mean people posting on here. In general its often the people who are likly to get caught doing something who are the ones thinking the punishment is too harsh. Prison time for shaking a fence at a football match against a slapped wrist for putting someone in hospitol on a night out does not seem appropriate at all. But that doesnt say to me that the 1st is wrong. It says the 2nd is wrong IMO. Tough sentances for football related crime is whats got rid of the hoolaganism of the 70's and 80's. Why change that approach becuase 2 groups of idiots still think its OK to behave like that? yes there is allot worse stuff that goes on, you and me both agree that its these people who should be in jail for their offences. Just because they are not you think football related violence should be let off the hook?
-
I will gladly call for tougher sentances cause I am not likly to be caught doing any of these wrongs. The ones wanting lighter sentances are often the ones that are likly to get caught comiting the crime. If they think going to the footy is all about getting into a ruck then they wont like getting there wrists slapped for it.
-
I would rather child porn punishments be changed completly and public castrations be brought in followed by stoning and then the guilty to be left to the parents. But the idea of tougher punishments to all is not to fill prisons to the top. It is supposed to act as a deterent too. If there is another local derby for us, will there be as many willing to act in the same way? If thats a no then there is less chance a space in a prison will be taken up by someone shaking a fence and leave an extra space for some nonce who should have his balls cut off and served up to the rats. IMO this approach should be taken for more crimes and it may deter more people thinking of comiting even the pettier of crimes. I also think the Death penalty should be available to the really serious crimes too which will make even more space in the prisons for the idiots who still wont learn.
-
I dont think it can be compared to other crimes or punishments though. Football related crime has been punished heavier for a long time. Its one of the main reasons that football related crime has decreased and makes watching football a more family friendly past time. Are punishments too soft for many other crimes???? Yes they are. Should people be let off the hook cause its only Football???? No they shouldnt. The fact that the police know, we know and the media know a derby match will be a flash point and more risk of trouble should make people all the more aware that trouble will not be tollerated. Sing, Chant and Banter is all fine. Throwing things to try and hurt people or try to start a ruck and you will end up in trouble. Simple rules for simple people I would have thought.

NC is planning to succeed rather than planning to fail. Up to the Championship within 2 years is part of the 5 year plan. Thats what he wants and that is what he is trying to achieve. Planning a possible 3rd or 4th year in League 1 is not planning to succeed. Im sure if we dont make it then a new plan will be made but I doubt NC or anyone at the club has been given the go ahead to think about such things. Up this year and build a team that can push for promotion next year. Championship for no more than 2 years and Prem for the 5th year. That would then open up the door for the longer term plan of building a world class club and is probably at the level that NC expects to be at in order to carry out what he told ML he would. Everything before that just has to happen and excuses will not be welcome.

Exactly, I think if we had got away with it there would have been a bad feel about it. I never proudly spouted off about how we may get away with it. When asked I tried to be honest and hoped we wouldnt get a penalty but admitted we probably deserved one. Its gutting that the FL changed the rules to suit in order that we didnt get away with it but thats life I guess. It stinks that other clubs still continue to flounce round the rules in order to get away with things now and there seems to be no-one with the ability to do anything about it. How come things are done to make sure we are punished yet others can do what ever they like?

Did the CVA inlude Al Faraj in it? I thougt the money from Al Faraj came from Sasha and Baloo

TBF, its about time the press started reporting some of the truths associated with Pompey. Too many papers and fans tow the line of poor old pompey and think they were unfortunate to be in this position. Warnock is the 1st manager to come out and say about the squad and wages at Pompey too. I know he praised them for not going bust a few weeks back and putting my football fan head on I can agree with him. It doesnt make it right to carry on cheating though. Maybe the tide will finally turn?
-
I'm gutted he didn't respond to my tweet TBH. Would have been nice to know the answers. "@danroan are u going to elaborate on the 5 year plan? Did it include world domination? Buying Pompey and sinking it? Cut price match photos?"

I'm not sure if the station was any good or not but always found it fun to get some proper bias tatters on the go. Didn't mind paying for the service then either. Refuse to pay a 2nd time for BBC services and it's kind of ironic that saints player has so many problems with it. Would there be the problems if it were just broadcast on the BBC site without the player?
-
The form QPR are in at the mo I can see a nice little confidence bashing on the cards. I find it funny how so many football people think it's good how Pompey have got past their problems as they don't want to see a team go out of business and in the next breath talk about how strong a squad Pompey have that will be pushing for automatic promotion. It's like they condone them splashing cash they never had in order to beat them in the league. Football people ain't that bright are they? LOL
-
That would probably be when lowe was running it and using there own radio station. Rob the BBC commentary and charge people for it and it's a pile of sh*te that people put up with. Lol
-
Yeah I noticed that. I got to where it was going belly up big style for Senior and had to do something else. Will be going back for more reading later. It shows how the pompey mess is not a simple mess to sort out. Its probably why they have managed to get out of so much trouble, everyone points the finger at someone else while wool gets pulled over numerous eyes. You would think there is plenty there to come back and bite them on the arse though.....
-
Proper LOL moment then The source added: "It turns out it was the money he'd earned for looking like an angry thumb in an advert for a fizzy drink."
-
Im suprised that other teams have not voiced there concerns over the help that Pompey have had so far. They have been forwarded money to help keep them in business yet they have used the money to build a team that has hopes of promotion. When do the other teams in the same league get the same help from the powers above? I have no doubt that we will once again get promoted back into the prem so on that bases can the prem advance us £8 Mil of future revenue that we may earn for being there? Or just £8 mil of future parachute payments should we get up there and get relegated will do. We dont need to sell any players or anything but we could do with getting a few more stars in the squad to push us up the league thank you please.
-
My guess is chainrai will do as little as possible to service the CVA but will make sure it's done. It won't do him any good at all to let it slip and put the club closer to liquidation. He has bent the club this far so will see it through till the end of the season at least. If they are out of chances for promotion then it may be a different matter though. The FA/FL/Prem/Courts/HMRC have all missed there chances to make a statement and force the club to do things properly. They have let the rules be bent and now have to follow through with the bending in a hope that there will be justification in the end. Would be interesting if the other teams in the various leagues started to expect the same treatment though.
-
And how much over budget is the wage bill at the mo? If they are 8 mil into next years money already before half way through the season, allowing for some extra cost involved to get through the admin process, would it be a fair guess that by the end of the season they will be around 15 mil down on where they were budgeting? Getting promoted would offset that I guess but considering there recent history gambling with Millions doesnt sound like the bestest business plan in the world. Its amazing that the FL and others have backed them and bailed them out with advances on future payments. What are they going to say if Pompey do eventualy go pop? What are they going to say to the next club that runs themselves into the ground thinking the FL and so on will bail them out no matter how badly things have gone? They have set the bar for others to follow and if they change there stance they will get slated for the preferential treatment of another club. well done to the FA, FL and Prem. lol
-
Lol how far back do the stats have to go to get Pompey above us for attendances? What was the capacity at the dell and how often was there plenty of space places to stand? I only went a few times as a kid and it was always rammed. Away support is a good measure though. Saint have a larger catchment area so it's no surprise there is a larger following but we also have the potential of a much larger following. Pompey have.......
