Still working for me after 11 years
-
Pursuant to the Guardian article, I found a link in one of the comments leading to a petition to the Football League. The petition has been started by a Pompey fan apparently http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/request-to-the-football-league-re-portsmouth/ Worth signing?

Think about it - all mouth and no Trousers (isn't that how the saying goes?)
-
But can anyone vouch for the accuracy of the old CVA? Or could it be a tissue of lies? Just a thought,
-
You know, all that head in hands stuff? It's given you tunnel vision
-
I said 'carried out' as well as pays, as well you know. Where did Mrs Trousers do her training. Did she just turn up with a load of cash and was told 'oh OK now you're qualified'?
-
Who do you think carries out and pays for the training that the staff in a private hospital have undertaken? Who do you suppose picks up the tab if a procedure carried out in a private hospital goes wrong? (Just think of the recent breast implant scandal)
-
These days, if politicians use private health facilites, they are doomed. According to Lord D and Trousers, they are also criticised for using public services instead of private provision (because they're taking away resources from those who can't afford private services - actually not true). In any event, the NHS (and all the other public services) need politicians and other opinion makers to use the public services that the rest of us rely on in order that they can experience first hand the real situation and press hard for improvements. It's no good pontificating from ivory towers.

Since we're harking back to history so much then I guess we should be amazed that we don't still have slavery and that kids aren't still sent up chimneys.
-
Although it wasn't widely reported, either the Health Service Journal or the New Statesman (can't remember which) interviewed a senior GP of a practice here in Witney (in the heart of Dave's constituency). The GP said he would struggle to find any GP in Dave's constituency supportive of Dave's big plan.

One's head as opposed to your own head ? Typical Tory - make some unfortunate suffer at your behest
-
Don't your employers ever question why you spend your working day with your head constantly in your hands?
-
With Fitzhugh Fella standing next to it I suggest

Quite right - I stand corrected. I just read that bit in a Q & A website about it.
-
I would have thought the bit in bold covered iPlayer.

I think you're wrong there: 3.2.2 If you do not have a valid television licence You may not watch television programmes using BBC Online Services on any device (including mobile phones, "smart" phones or devices, laptops, tablets and personal computers) at the same time (or virtually the same time) as the programmes are being broadcast, simulcast or otherwise made available by the BBC on television, unless you have a valid television licence. For more information on this requirement please see the Frequently Asked Questions or you can contact TV Licensing by calling 0870 241 5590 or by visiting www.tvlicensing.co.uk. from http://www.bbc.co.uk/terms/personal.shtml

And I think many people living in troubled times around the world are grateful for the fact that they can access the BBC to get a balanced view of events in their countries where there is often censorship. If a bit of my licence fee goes toward such a service then I'm very happy.
-
IMO anyone who never, ever listens or watches the BBC and never, ever uses the BBC websites lives in an other world.
-
Lord D - your argument applies to Sky also, does it not? We pay something in the order of £70 pcm for Sky and watch perhaps one or two channels only apart from the Sky Sports channels (four?). If we want to watch these few channels we also HAVE to pay for all the dross that's put out. The BBC is far, far better value for money.

I guess we should give the administrator a little time to get his feet under the desk and to find out exactly what the situation is. He's only been in the job since Friday afternoon! Are his connections with the footballing world a good or a bad thing, though?

Penalty Charge Notice (advice please)

That can't be right (well, SSON's case). He parked on a public highway - a resident can't lay claim to that area. If he was blocking egress there would be a case but not if it's not causing an obstruction, surely? -
I can't help but wonder if PFC get 'special' treatment because of their past link with Sir Dave Richards, chairman of the Football Association. After all, Lumpitt used to work for the FA didn't he? And Sir Dave was quite heavily involved in the Al Mirage saga, apparently. Is this pure coincidence or am I just a conspiracy theorist? Just google Sir Dave Richards - interesting reading.
-
The media, generally, seem reluctant to spill the beans about all the wrong-doings at PFC. I'm not alone, I'm sure, in sending stuff to the press over the weeks and months. Given the rants on TalkSport, perhaps they should be made aware of this thread at the very least. Although whether they'd have the time to read it.......
-
Thankyou. I connected just as Forest went ahead at Coventry, relegating PFC to second from bottom! Oh the irony that Clots should do such damage
-
BBC Championship table not yet reflecting 10 points deduction. However, with Doncaster currently ahead, PFC will be in the relegation zone as things stand!
