  1. It WAS the right production for them. My daughter and SiL to be are not the sort of people who need to make a fuss about anything. They're quiet people who focus on their relationship and don't feel the need to make statements. Their wedding will be quiet (no themes, no colour co-ordination stuff), no real formality apart from the church service (and they're regular church goers, and not just sudden 'converts' lol). It was, and will be, special to both of them and that's all that matters. But each to their own eh?
  2. I would say it's a very private occasion and doesn't need to be a 'production' (lots of cringeworthy stuff on BBC news this morning). Then, if s/he says no, no-one else will be any the wiser. But, these days, everyone seems to want it to be shared by the world. Why? My SiL (w.e.f. next Friday) quietly proposed on Boxing Day, she said yes, and they shared the news with the family who were there for lunch. 'Twas lovely
  3. Not if you put 'tweet' for number 11
  4. By a dophin according to Wiki's animal sounds. Looks like that's your final answer Hammie!
  5. Noooooooo!!!!!!!!!! One hundred = C. Fifty = L
  6. I was considering two questions at once - you know, multi-tasking? Something we girls are good at. To clarify: 'One hundred pounds' = C (for 100) followed by a word for 'pounds'. Which is why I can't see how 'bleats' would work. I was a bit astray with the 'nothing in a built up yard' but as soon as I saw Bearsy's answer, the penny dropped. So........ it's just the 'One hundred pounds' that's stumping you, yes?
  7. But how does that work?
  8. Yep that's right!
  9. L = 50 in crossword-speak, I think so I can't see how that would work. I was working on the lines of 'C........' for One hundred pounds and a word for 'yard' backwards with an 'o' in the middle. But I'm stumped. I've even googled and wiki'd animal noises FFS!
  10. My thought too but monkey and pony aren't animal noises.
  11. But Birch has already said repeatedly that he can't show the players with high wages the door. Their contracts are protected. So BC would have to honour those wages even if he did step in again.
  12. Hmmm I've asked twice (different names) about the integrity of repeatedly going into admin / failing to meet the terms of CVAs without incurring further points penalties but so far no response
  13. It said that Gaydamak owned the ground.
  14. Ever the pedant, me There is a persistent urban legend, repeated by the now-defunct UK newspaper the Sunday Correspondent, which ascribes sexually suggestive names – such as Master Bates, Seaman Staines, and Roger the Cabin Boy (meaning to have sex with) – to Captain Pugwash's characters, and indicating that the captain's name was a slang Australian term for oral sex. John Ryan successfully sued both the Sunday Correspondent and The Guardian newspapers in 1991 for printing this legend as fact From Wiki

  21. Wouldn't it be great if the English FL had the same attitude to football finance as the Scottish lot? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-union/17681268 BTW ignore the fact that the link seems to refer to Rugby Union - cock up by the BBC webmeisters!
