  1. From the snippet you posted, I didn't get the impression that they WERE saying they did live on their bonus. My other half works shifts and gets an unsocial hours additional payment. Maybe their long haul payments are similar?
  2. Seriously (I know - it's the Muppet) you should get floaters checked out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floater
  3. From the horses mouth Quote: We are certainly aware of the issues surrounding Portsmouth FC at this time and we will be considering their position once the club are officially a Football League member after June’s AGM. I wonder if this means they could vote to exclude PFC? Yours, ever in hope
  4. Many, many people - particular in the sales field, have target bonuses written into their contracts of employment. My son's basic salary is a (comparative) pittance - his target bonuses are huge. That is the way of sales (in IT and I imagine in many other industries).
  5. But your salesman or person working overtime wouldn't like it if his / her bonus / overtime payment was stopped without discussion.
  6. Almost right - Labour had said they would set up a switch to AV and then ratify it with a referendum. But many Labour MPs don't like that. In the same way, I suspect, as the right wing of the Conservative Party will react. I think the Conservative 'Way Forward' group has just intimated this.
  7. At what point do they, and other relegated clubs, become part of the CCC and thereby the FL? Now that the season has finished or at the start of next season?
  8. I don't know why the Libs would want AV - I don't think it would deliver what they want. I think there should be a referendum on this (although in principle I'm against referenda) as it would be a major change to the constitution. I'd be surprised if the Cons agreed to this without a referendum first.
  9. I hope it does go Lib / Con because I think it will be a poisoned chalice.
  10. Well I'm completely confused now! This is an extract from a Guardian article: "The payments – which rise from £16m a year over two years – will start from next season" I took that to mean that clubs relegated AT THE END OF NEXT SEASON would qualify for the new deal, not clubs relegated at the end of this season  http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/may/10/football-league-agree-parachute-payments
  11. Hmmm I voted for the party I wanted to win, not the leader. That's not to say I didn't support the party's leader BTW
  12. Cut him some slack VFTT - this is the guy who made a scurrilous accusation about me and it took loads of posts before he finally apologised
