  1. 10 weeks x 7 days x 24 hours?????? No sleep at all then?
  2. You don't know what work he does so you can't possibly comment with any authority. You're not allowed to work more - Working Time Directive. Oh of course - you're HM Forces aren't you? Seems to me the only shifts you do are on here
  3. John Cruddace would be my absolute no.1 choice though.
  4. He works 4 gets 4 off. He's finding it increasingly difficult to turn himself round from working 7pm to 7am to working 7am to 7pm in those 4 days. And when he's doing the afternoon shift (2pm to 2am) he has to sleep in the spare bed so that he doesn't wake me / I don't wake him. Still - mustn't grumble
  5. Do you have to alternate day / afternoon / night shifts? We only get 2 weekends out of 8 together
  6. Could those 4 working days be 12 hour shifts? Mr TF works 4 x 12 hours rotational shifts. Horrible.
  7. I think DC is painted into a corner. He won't want electoral reform as that will sound the death knell for his party. He won't get into power unless he backs electoral reform. Turkeys (apt don't you think ) don't vote for Christmas.
  8. You might be on to something here. Because I'm sure the way it works is that the Administrator is responsible for all debts accrued since the introduction of administration. Oh - you've just added this to your edited post!
  9. He's actually a really pleasant man. This is my view, having met him. Your view is based on what exactly?
  10. Not difficult because Osborne IS a complete mug. Anyone else notice how he was kept firmly out of the picture during the run-up to the election?
  11. Hypothetical question since we don't fly as a matter of choice. However, I admit I'd be annoyed but, whilst I can't hold a candle to Duncan in the principle stakes, I'd like to think I'd still put my principles before my personal inconvenience. I'm trying to remember if I have ever been inconvenienced by industrial action and I can think of the refuse collectors' strikes in the 70s - pain in the proverbial but something I put up with. I have refused to cross picket lines and I've withdrawn my custom from companies that I think have unfairly treated their employees.
  12. Cheers ESB. We went to Tolpuddle last year and now possess two fine beer glasses from there Some people on here can't / aren't able to get their heads round the simple idea that people have as much right to withdraw their labour as other people have the right to withdraw their capital.
  13. Says it all, really
  14. If BA were to go bust, you could equally lay the blame at the door of Willie Walshe for his pig-headedness and willingness to go back on / redraft agreements already made. There are always two sides to any dispute, Stu.
  15. I think this is mis-reporting. I've been away for a week but I'm sure, when trying to catch up last night, I read that AA has x days to work up the CVA details (or should that be 'make up'?) My understanding is that HMRC agreed that that process could go ahead - not that HMRC agreed to the terms of the CVA. Because the terms haven't been finalised yet.
