There hasn't been a connection with the team for a while now, hardly surprising when we have home form as wretched as ours from the past two and a bit seasons.
-
He didn't exactly do himself any favours by taking off the 3 players who displayed the most attacking intent throughout much of the first half.

I get the point you are making, but I'm a fan and nothing else. Sure, I spend money supporting the club, and yes, that makes me a customer, but I also spend money at Tesco etc, but I don't have any kind of emotional attachment to them, they are just stores. At the end of the day its just a word, but I'd rather be referred to as a fan than a customer. -
Can't believe a West Ham player is sensitive to a bit of booing. Weren't their fans fighting amongst each other quite recently? We've not quite reached that level yet.

I know that the club doesn't mean much to players and managers, but it does to me. That's why I class myself as a fan not a customer. -

I'm not a fuckin customer. I am a fuckin fan. Customer? What sort of shit is that? Are you deliberately trying to get people's goat up? -

Arguing with fans after the game isn't a good look. Just walk away. You can address that after the game in the press conferences, which he seems to do at every turn anyway. -
A thought occured to me on the way home after the game yesterday. Did SR get this the wrong way around? After sacking Ralph, should we have gone for Martin then? We practically did when we gave Selles the job anyway. So after the inevitable relegation to the Championship under Martin, would we have not been better off going for Jones for this season rather than last?

I have read your posts, and I conclude that they are absolute nonsense. Fair enough you have an opinion, as do I, and my opinion is that there is no excuse for not beating teams like Rotherham at home if you want to get promotion. There were periods in the game yesterday where absolutley nothing was happening, we were more than happy in passing it along the back four, and then when the ball found its way further into the midfield, the likes of Smallbone and Downes were more than happy to give it back to the centre halves. It got us nowhere, time and time again, we allowed Rotherham to get into a shape which we couldn't break down with our insitence of just passing it around. As the game wore on it was inevitable that they would score, in the end we could have lost that game as the usual barrage of high balls swept in. -

Do you need reminding of the performances against Sunderland, Leicester, Ipswich and Middlesborough? I was at the Ipswich game, quite honestly we could have played all night and still not scored. We are playing shit football at the moment, and have been playing shit football for the past three seasons at least. -

In case you haven't noticed, we are in neither competetion. This style of play is getting us nowhere. You have got to be on the wind up big time. -

Satisfied by the standard of play? We were playing Rotherham at home, not Real Madrid. A team with serious promotion ambitions would have taken the three points easily. Your telling me that watching Smallbone, Bednerak, Downes etc passing it around in five yard triangles sideways and backwards is beautiful? I call it boring and cowardly, and am guessing the more this goes on, the less "vile customers" Martin and SR will have to deal with. -

Wow, Who in SR wrote that? Or was it Wilcox or Martin himself? There is no excuse for not beating Rotherham at home if your a team expecting to mount a serious promotion challenge. Leicester would have wiped the floor with that lot, with probably half the amount of posession as we had. Nobody has the right to win every game, but I expect more when we play the likes of Rotherham. -
Highly likely. Their keeper was the stand out for them no question. However, a more confident and composed finish from Smallbone would have won it. He gave the keeper a chance to save it, when he absolutley shouls have buried it into either corner.
-
To be fair, he didn't have a whole lot to do today. The saves he made you would expect even him to make. Probably his positioning was suspect for their goal though, although he would say that THB should be making a better clearance than he actually did.

I think automatic is beyond us now. Its pot luck really, I honestly think with Martin in charge we could finish anywhere between 3rd and 10th. -

Am just not a fan of making three changes at once, think it makes the team too disjointed for a period. Agree about Adams though, absolute shit. But when you are bringing on Mara as well, just goes to shoe how light we are in the forward area. -

Went to shit after the subs were made. Same as Selles last season, around the 60 minute mark, just make subs for the sake of it. None of them made a difference in a positive way. -

He probably won't have a game like that again all season. Smallbone shouldn't have given him the opportunity to make the save in all honesty. Even my lad said he is always told to aim for the corner of the goal and not the centre. -

I get results like this happen. No team has a divine right to win every game, but if you are serious about promotion, you have to absolutely beat the likes of Rotherham, especially at home. I somehow doubt that Leicester would have little difficulty in dispatching them. -
To be fair, I think they are going to do it this year. That League is short on quality this season.

We need to score first, and early. Do that, and it should be a comfortable victory. -
Be a massive cut price. He'll only have six months left on his contract by then.

Really got to make this one count, three wins on the spin going into the international break would be huge.
