We just picked the wrong option on that passing move out. We could have been clear down that flank. Instead, it comes in and we had to get back. Game is stretched. Fraser away and just blasts it. Shot on target.

Stu's cross was high and easy for their keeper. But excellent link up between Che and Fraser and then Fraser and Stu, who was just over reaching when it came to getting the ball in. It's that instinctive progression of Martin's possession system that's really going to make a difference.

Cunning from Bazunu. His punt doesn;t go to one of us for a change. But Watford promptly kick it out, giving us possession anyway. HB did well to hold up and block a shot there.

AA gets it to Aribo. It looks as though he's going to drive forward, but then checks himself, then does drive forward. He does get a ball over, so he's done okay. But meanwhile in the box, Che has had to check his position, when Aribo holds up. Just one example of why it's tough for a Saints striker. We've no clear way of delivering quality service into them. Arbo involved a minute later, much deeper. His pass is misplaced, but he's so much more mobile. Hopefully, he'll get even fitter as it's made such a difference.

It's that dangerous period for us, with ous 1 up. We've done okay with it so far., with them giving away a few fouls. I'd like to think Fraser will help with that. He's so attacking and direct, it wiull hopefully drag us forward. Meanwhile...Baz with a nice, cool pass out. Other goalkeepers might flap with at least one of the one he's dealt with effortlessly today.

Another good move. Aribo in the middle, managing to do two things in quick succession (looks comfortable there). We get the ball out well to KWP and it didn;t make it in where we had bodies waiting to put it in.

Fraser taken out! Porteous moaning. Possibly saying he only took one of Fraser's legs off.

Nice cushioned header from AA. Really composed touch to bring it down and a striker's finish. Good to see him get a goal. I think he's often in good positions for things not to fall for him, or not the best when it's a poaching chance. That one was more in his locker to do well with.

Decenet move. Fraser usig his experience to sheidl the ball, and get his opponent to fall over. Stu picked out Che well, and Che put it just across the goal. Would have been difficult for him to put it in, and no one there for the tap in.

Not surprised that Alcaraz is off for Fraser. Not terrible, but not clicking. Fraser has alredy been directly involved.

Well, a shot ...

Little in the way of clear chances in the half. Our attempts to cut through their defence, have mostly been from a little deeper, not reaching their target. A shot into the ground near 40 mins got flicked over the bar from Stu. Some of our passes in the final third have gone astray, leading to counters, that have got their fans behind them. Baz has been the keeper under a little more pressure. He had to do another race out, taking one of their players, before an offside flag was raised. Another ball in he couldn’t keep hold of, as a Watford player raising his foot put him off. The result hit the post, but was offside as well. A cross in just before the break went wide. Baz had to stand up to the first real effort just before 45 mins. After last season, he’s more than used to holding his nerve, in such situations. We’ve had some decent passing moves, and plenty of possession. They’ve got forward in numbers and at pace, looking to exploit our fullback gaps, to get deliveries across. But our defence are well used to this, and have had numbers back, and it’s not fallen for them either. Bednarek has done very well on a couple of occasions to prevent a clear opening for them. Aribo has been interesting to watch. A mix of things. Physically holding things up. Some good passes. Got back at pace a couple of times, and went on a little run, where he got past his man on the byline. On the other hand, still looks likely to pass it back or sideways without checking for a better forward pass. Especially, after he’s just put a little effort in. He needs half a minute to recharge. Watford have looked the most likely in a half of not many chances. But we just need one passing move to unlock their defence.

Well, that should hopefully push SR to get in at least 1 immediate forward replacement, and be looking around to arrange a deal for Adams' departure. Hopefully, this time, the forward :- Will have two functional legs Will remotely fit the system being played at the club Will not be a mythical creature like a Yeti Will put their signature in, and not change their mind leaving smug SR people looking incredibly dumb. Little things...
