Rangers aren't fans of signing Republic of Ireland players otherwise they could snap up Bazunu at the same time.

That's why I questioned whether it was fartlek or intervals. Another data point is having trained with a national squad and being in no way good enough to represent that squad I can also say the prevailing sentiment of the people who were up to it would have been "so what?"

I get where you're coming from. There was some great attacking pay under Martin. But.... he refused to change or adapt despite the evidence to the contrary. When Rusk came in, who wasn't the best, the simple change of "stop fucking about with it" made us look so much better. It would've been better to maintain that than whatever the hell madness Juric brought. We invited teams to score and had zero ambition to get the ball forward. If Martin had learned the lessons of the playoffs and adapted he could have be one of the great Saints managers. Instead his inability to adapt took over. His teams have always conceded lots of goals and he has never made any attempt to learn from it. He wasn't rubbish but he also was stubborn to the point of causing harm. He left an unfit team that was comfortable being shit and boasted about it. He could be better than that - we should aspire to being better than that. We got promoted yet we were so abject as to make it a parody. Pretending that the signs weren't there and we couldn't have done better is the narrative that Martin wants - in his recent press conference he boasted about how he joined in the Championship and left in the Premier League. This kind of shit of why we are where we are. Will Still is making noises that fill me with a lot more hope than a man who seemed to be in it just for himself. Watching some of the attacking play from pre season friendlies is making me excited about next year. Hearing about how we're working harder in training makes me excited. I'm really looking forward to 2025-26.

I dunno.... 10km used to be a tapering run the day before an ultramarathon and I was in no way what you would might describe as a professional athlete.
-
9km doesn't seem that much for a professional athlete unless you're running intervals or fartlek.

Being vocal?

Unless you're psychic you could perhaps gain credibility by avoiding stating your assumptions of how other people think as fact. Claiming we know other people's inner thoughts and motivations is only marginally less offensive than telling other people how to think.

I want to see more of the Dibling Edozie Stewart axis from the first goal of the second 60 minute game the other day.
-
It strikes me that conceding 60 goals is a statement of fact. We went on a record unbeaten run and got promoted in spite of this. Our unbeaten run didn't have more wins because of this so we missed automatic promotion. In the premiership we were unable to win or even draw games because of this and were relegated as a result. It seems relevant to the position we find ourselves in so understanding how that happened might help us in future.

Or concede 60+ league goals a season.
-
Stop. Turn back. Recycle.
-
They could pick two of Saints record breaking defence in the same way Leicester got Bertrand and Vestergaard.
-
Given the size of our squad it gives more match time to more players as well as more info to the new manager. Very forward thinking.

We'd have to be blind to ignore his potential. Set the transfer date.
-
To be fair all our attackers looked very alone last season. Nice to see a concerted effort to get behind the other team and players making overlapping runs.
-
The Dibling - Edozie - Stewart goal is a lovely move.

Surely Rangers will be looking closer to home for a dominant ball playing centre half. This is where we see what a masterstroke Stephens' new contract was.
-
But then we can continue our glorious recent tradition of stuffing the team with centre backs playing out of position.
-
It's not scar tissue, it's "bravery bruising"
-
By tying down Stephens, Smallbone, BBD, Armstrong to new long term contracts?
-
Can the future be being sold, loaned or having their contracts run down, please? Though keep Armstrong for this season.
-
Nobody hit more 2 yard passes than Bednarek last year.
-
He's getting the bravery in possession going sooner than expected
