  1. Commentators aren't sure whether Adams was shooting or trying to hit a cross field pass
  2. Not against these subs - just 15 minutes too late.
  3. Brooks has realised that with Rothwell off the pitch he has to lose the ball aimlessly enough for 2 players.
  4. Smallbone might not be strongest in the tackle but he's great and finding space and moving the ball quickly.
  5. "Southampton look like they mean business here" LOL
  6. I would hope that "cunts" is going to feature strongly by word frequency.
  7. Let's get Fraser and Edozie on for Armstrong and Brooks who've been invisible. At least have a couple of players who are going to stretch play so we can have a go at them.
  8. On the plus side, at least Martin's team talk isn't going to be "keep doing what you're doing"
  9. Now for Brooks to go off too replaced with Edozie or Fraser.
  10. Time to sub Rothwell and replace with Smallbone.
  11. Rothwell is where passing moves go to die.
  12. I wouldn't say that I need to drink to watch Saints at the moment. But I also am not not drinking right now.
  13. This is shaping up for Leicester failing to convert their dominance and us nicking 2 goals in the second half.
  14. To be fair that looked like a foul on Che. KWP MIA though.
  15. At least we're back on top of the possession stats.
  16. Vardy should be seeing yellow there for dissent
  17. I see we've learned from the Cardiff game. How to invite pressure and hope they don't convert.
  18. Awww bless. Sky are still pretending it's still a 4 way title fight.
  19. I'm expecting to see a complete performance tonight. A period of total dominance where we can't convert and Che fails to score when 1 on 1 with their keeper. Brooks indifferent at the periphery of the game. Rothwell anonymous in midfield. A McCarthy howler where we forget he's in goal and fanny about at the back. A goal scored where a winger is able to advance down the middle of the pitch unmarked. A late goal deciding the game against us. Followed by a Saintsweb meltdown about how we didn't make automatic promotion. Nothing else is going to set us up for the playoffs.
  20. After swiping at air over the weekend, the banjo will be enraged. Leicester beware. Hat-trick incoming.
  21. You mean when in the build up on Sky will they mention it? Probably about 5 minutes in.
  22. I really don't want Hull to make the playoffs. They outplayed us for their win. Would prefer West Brom to Norwich who have the players to really exploit our system.
  23. Some of the attacking play I've seen this season has been up with the best Saints have ever produced in my lifetime. I look forward to games rather than dreading them last season. That being said, we offer up too many gilt edged chances. So unless we convert our chances we run the risk of being pegged back. We're not clinical at either end of the pitch. This is partly down to our players and partly the space we offer attacking teams. This is something Martin can learn. On top of that we don't have a plan to tighten up and hold into leads. This is something Martin needs to learn. Given the improvement in play from last season I'm happy for Martin to continue as long as he's addressing that. Changing manager every season (or worse) is a soul destroying experience. We won't develop as a club without some stability. I don't see us getting a manager who is the finished article. For every Pochettino or Koeman there are multiple Hughes, Jones and Selles. Martin ticks a lots of the boxes we want. We should stick with him.
  24. They weren't the players we needed to bring in in January. No disrespect to either but those were positions we were strong in already. With talented kids on the verge of breaking through. Not getting in a striker or defensive midfielder left us exposed. Not to mention our well documented shot stopping inability. By adding players we didn't need we've upset the team balance and ignored glaring problems we've had for a long time. It's led to substitutions for the sake of minutes rather than having a positive impact on the game.
