Got told to take it off by police once on train to Fratton and once off tge bubble coach. They will confiscate next time. Got an asbo ticket once !!

4 at back is more reliable as players don't get out of position as much or shouldn't. The problem Saints have is the slow style of play they are ground anyone. Combine very slow game plan with 3 at back or even 5 and you get the usual opposition just cut through or run un marked. 4-4-2 allows cover in front and behind the two lines of 4. Its simple and easy to speak to thd person next to you to go forward I'll cover or back, sideways. It maybe the new players have the pace needed for 3 of 5 at back. But we won't see this in action until they are in team. I don't think Saints have any idea what system to use of which player to play where and what role. Which is why teams have just found it easy to play through or long ball us. Let's hope Saints know what their doing tomorrow.

Here, here

Had this t shirt on the bubble and in Fratton Park last time. Probably won't get awsy with it tomorrow but its back out.

Didn't we play 5 at back 1st half and 5 up front 2nd half one game last season? Both options Didn't work.
-
I would go with that. The other new players won't start as too risky. One thing in our favour is if we have actually trained to play in a different way as Pompey will look at footage of our defending and expect 3 points. Let's hope Still and the players have a new game plan. Saints 3-1 based on Pompey fans expecting to win and Saints surprising them with solid defending!!

Win, not get sent off, no rubbish goals conceded and concentrate! All in one game that's a big ask..
-
He's correct the bookies have us odds on Pompey 4/1 and now 3rd for promotion. But that's just on someone's opinion in reality we are evens for all games until we get on a run of 5 wins. With 9 new players and the ru we have had plus xg on last season we cant be fav

Suspect fans who normally get train may get there late. From Eastleigh replacement bus takes 1 hour, plus the time queuing up for the bus or two buses, then additional time waiting for bus to return white in queue. SWT do say that replacement bus is only provided if coaches avaliable and shortage of drivers could impact if a busis provided. As all coaches will be booked for away fans I'm not relying on SWT.

I'm sure flats planning application has been approved, echo or other news. The area is quite a walk from station or town but sure there was some sort of vision to develop the area around tge ground. Maybe the units that burnt down won't be new units, possibly something around old town depot area.

These two games were both 4-0 to Saintsforever.com. Fans match I played at Eastleigh FC and Moneyfields, I've still got the skills if another game comes up!

Outstanding goal by Saints, one of the best atmospheres, Saints fans everywhere. Still got my ticket in North Terrace! Yes there were Saints in that stand....

The passing football will go out the window plus Saints will water the pitch as usual. Saints will need to resort to guts and aggression not silky ball skills.

Between 8th and 6th. The new players look good on paper to its a matter of how long will if take to get the starting 11. A consistent starting 11 being our best players. If we beat Pompey with the new players making a big impact then we have made progress. For top 2 you need to score plenty of goals or grind out 1-0 s via possesion with solid defending.

Very unlikely as they can't walk with an ankle tag let alone a paving slab

Fratton had average 11k for 10 seasons once, I'll have to dig the attendance book out. Some of thier games in 70s the ground was virtually empty.

Newby for an Away game (Liverpool Cup) - questions please.
die Mannyschaft replied to Ekimr's topic in Saints Away Supporters
The pickup for Winchester is king Alfred statue. Sometimes Saints Away pickup at Winnall Tescos. Seats are reserved. Official coaches normally get sold out before halfway down qualifying list or earlier depends on games. London games won't have many coaches as most go on train. -

Good allocation. Hope there are enough coaches as sell out quickly. -
5 at back signals to the opponents we are setting for a draw.

Agree JS will up for the game and he can get stuck in which players didn't do last season. I am concerned that all the new/non Saints connected players won't be that interested as in 'its a derby game'. It will be approached as a leaque game and not a win at all costs game.

Man U have same problem. Why cant keepers practice goal keeping instead of pushing ball out rather than catching, cover the near post and stop thinking they can pass the ball like an outfield player.
-
On paper we look good. I can't see players going in studs up, winning headers and running around. It will need to be a major transformation from the Wrexham and Stoke games. We looked like old men crossing the road look left, look right before moving. How on earth did the Stoke goalkeeper throw the ball through our midfield and back to assist a goal? Can you imagine the direct ball bombardment that's going to happen, we need to get some sort of defensive plan in place.
