Some crosses were either too deep or one player with box full of defenders. We either got down wings into great positions then no one in box or took too long and defenders back in numbers On the high fast crosses our players were either static so no correct contact or didn't run in yo meet the ball Could have done with one running at back post while one attacking the line the ball is coming in at Same for low drills in. Either not enough Saints in box or in wrong position. It was better 2nd half, at least we could of had a deflected goal or hand ball.

Its a tactic to stop opposition playing. But backfires as we cant play in water logged areas and slip up. At half time the ground bloke allways soaks the right side of box looking from the Northam.

Play football the same as Wrexham, Stoke and Pompey it worked for them.

The only positive is at some point playing negative football will generate the goals needed to win against top and bottom teams in league. And if it doesn't generate the goals then we will be favourites again for promotion next season. At least fans can say we have the setup on paper.

Today's game ironically when looking at fixtures was an easier game. An apparent crap team. Now we have relegation teams which are must win or Saints get stuck in bottom six, or top teams who are far better football outfits. Now back to the next game will kick start season. Pompey coaches

Pompey would have looked at video from our games and think this is sn easy win. That's why thier calling fif aggression as we don't deal well at all with any sort of attack in air, through mid and defence or wing. Even a golden assisted a throw the length of pitch. In reality we don't have a working team yet and we don't know when a run of wins will come. The best ace we hold is no one knows what the new players will do tomorrow. Will they all play, will it be new tactics, will the keeper turn up, is there a goal scorer, will we continue slow football. Saints could bore Pompey to death. The only way we can win is to not play as we have been and surprise the fans and the opposition. Forget the fact we are on paper the biggest team but that's irrelevant as it hasn't worked so far. I still have recuring nightmares that Saints will play the same way as v Stoke. I just don't think we can change style and tactics one game on to the biggest game of the season. Bore draw 0-0 would be better than a loss.
