  1. Yes, it skimmed off Danny’s head, through bad positioning. Then the players panicked, I went for a piss and left my seat in the Kingsland N as I was hoping by the time I returned that the final whilst would go but all I heard mid-slash was the Boro fans jumping up and down and the tannoy announcement of Downing’s goal. Sliding doors moment that.
  2. Because populist politicians have manipulated the figures to stoke anti-immigrant - including overseas students and dependents in the net figures by Braverman was fraudulent as the vast majority don’t stay afterwards, don’t use the NHS and pay a shedload of fees and health surcharges for coming here. They’re visitors. Then they sold us the lie that we’d take back control with Brexit, we didn’t. Then Rwanda would be a deterrent, it wasn’t, it was an hideously expensive white elephant. What Osborne was doing instead was building R&D and civil society capacity in some of the countries where illegal migration is coming from to improve sanitation, economic performance, reduce conflicts. Not perfect but as part of the Cameroon 0.8% of GDP as overseas aid it had quite a good impact on making some of the potential departure nations more pleasant to live in and enhanced the UK’s soft power. Good outward-facing policy, not always working out but the idea was sound. I don’t think £100m will make much of a dent from Lammy by comparison, but the principle isn’t wrong as it wasn’t wrong 10 years ago from the coalition. What has been counter-productive is slashing the overseas aid budget (raiding what’s left of it for the hotels and hiding more of that in the public finances), and pretending to be tough on immigration with the fig leaves above, and undeliverable slogans such as Stop the Boats and misaligning skilled visitors and essential inwards movement for the health service with illegals immigration and asylum. No party or government could stop it, but we can invest in two ways to slow the flows - as I’ve just described at the likely departure side, and by having legal routes with faster processing and the bulk rejected. We will never stop the flows from places like Eritrea where it’s conscription permanently from 14 for men, but we can be proactive with other nations. And pre-Brexit we had of course more collaborative tools and data with EU partners to manage a continental issue.
  3. Getting down to low shots is a flaw of his, reference Watford home in 2017. From the Itchen, they looked saveable but when you saw the highlights later the two shots weren’t even in the corners especially.
  4. That started prior to Brexit, one of the first things May did was push Osborne before he jumped. Plenty of beef there. And Theresa’s ‘hostile environment’ didn’t work either, other than to usher in the Windrush scandal with plenty of people who really were British.
  5. Glad if he has turned SR down as well, last thing we need is another plastic Pep.
  6. Cooper is another. And probably more attainable.
  7. Probably will happen but we will struggle to finish top half next season with that absolute 🤡 in goal.
  8. ☝️
  9. Potter won’t join but Ashworth as DoF is an obvious move. So SR won’t make it.
  10. SaintsFan86 is one of his other logins.
  11. Jordan - two log-ins in one night. Sad little man. Aka ‘Fabrice’
  12. What of? Our points total? The fact we’ve made as many errors leading to goals as the previous record by Brentford last season? Or that the worst two managers in the club’s history are appointees of Rasmus Ankerson? Now crawl back under your rock sonny.
  13. That is such a damning stat and damning for that style of football. With Pep starting to fade, hopefully the wannabes do. Martin won’t get another manager gig without totally reinventing himself.
  14. The penny is dropping rapidly within our fanbase. Later than it should’ve done, but SR are getting seen for what they are. Martin for main course, Rasmus for pudding - they are in our fans’ crosshairs. They can ban us from the stadium for opposing them but they can’t silence us. The noise is growing to get their toxicity out of SFC’s bloodstream.
  15. Martin’s outbursts at the fans are being noted across the profession as well as the repeat fuck ups from trying to repetitively slow play out from the back. He’s verging on unemployable now in management, might be able to forge a media career perhaps?
  16. George Osborne did something similar with the Global Challenge Research Fund, did get some results although it was a lot more than £100m invested. The shift in Tory ideology post-Brexit became far more of an insular island mentality and they decided to make a clear shift away from the Cameron 0.8% ODA spending objective. Which hasn’t worked.
  17. 🎵 Jordan Sibley, your PR is shit 🎵 And you can clear your desk as well Russell.
  18. And we’re giving them even more back. I hope it is getting back to RM, toys went right out of his pram today. They’re rattled, let’s turn the heat up. A Nathan Jones interview meltdown is on the way.
  19. That strange camera-lit meeting at SMS on Weds night was clearly meant to be seen. If it wasn’t confirming RM’s departure (I still think it was related to it) then it was something significant relating to SR’s structure. Dragan if he is vaguely sane cannot be looking at Rasmus’s performance with SFC and Valenciennes and thinking ‘things are going OK’. Ben Chorley is very unpopular as Rasmus’s DoF puppet there. If he must be involved in SR, limit it to Goztepe and get big names as DoFs for Saints and Valenciennes, profiles that can start to rebuild the rubble of SR’s relationships with the communities.
  20. Hope being the operative word, although hope isn’t a word I associate with SFC full stop these days. Anyone with ‘ITK’ in their account name has a whiff of Football Insider.
  21. And a PR plant on here. Straight out of the Rupert Lowe playbook. Rupert was dreadful enough, but Rasmus as well within 15 years. What did we do to deserve that?
  22. Hard to argue with the overwhelming majority of that. I will defend Archer as on the rare occasions we’ve gotten him quick balls around the corner he’s either scored or worked the keeper. He’s off the shoulder player and walking football doesn’t suit him. Could be successful next season without this arsehole of a manager. Cornet as above really, great at Burnley, serious muscle injury at W Ham, came here to play games. Clearly a PL quality player if used properly. BBD has looked appalling, no denying that, but again, totally unsuited to Russball. Lesley - worst central midfielder I’ve ever seen in the top flight for Saints. Carlton Palmer’s first touch, Wanyama’s passing without the great engine which made them effective players, and instead the engine of 1993 era Glenn Cockerill (he was very good in the 1980s) in his Captain Crap phase. Whoever got Chelsea to pay £22m on a 7 year contract should be replacing Rasmus, very shrewd.
  23. Cross Country don’t need much reason to cancel services. Although tbf, their staff being pulled out of position around their much larger network would damage them for days.
  24. Yeah, Dragan needs to cut off Rasmus’s supply in January. If we have another January 2023 spree window inspired by Rasmus (Sulemana - £22m anyone?), even a reincarnated Markus wouldn’t be able to save the club from the firestorm created. We will all be Sholing fans. Need to sell and loan out as much as possible whilst retaining some of sporting integrity. Part of that is by freeing up enough to sack Martin, that would be the best apology to the league.
  25. That does help. Gloucester Quays Xmas market might be off as well which would ease pressure around there.
