Oh god don’t say that, you’ll get told you’re clearly not very bright by those with higher IQ’s than you or I. You need to have played at a high level in the game to be astute enough to realise that getting injuries are far more likely in a match situation and therefore randomly resting Peretz for fear of injury during Saturdays match, is a decision that only the truly brilliant minds in the game will understand
-
Not sure what Haaland being on the bench for an FA cup game against a team from the league below, has got to do with discussing a scenario about potentially resting him for league games incase he gets injured in the less important ones and it ruins their chances of winning the league, to mirror your stance on Peretz. We rested players in the cup too, against lesser teams in earlier rounds, and rightly so. Pretty sure pep didn’t rest Haaland as he was shit scared of him getting injured against us, as you seem to be with peretz this weekend, so Not sure what your point is there.
-
We probably wouldn’t but you could say that about any player ever anywhere, injuries are a risk for any player at any time, doesn’t mean we rest them for games that are still semi important and just blindly worry without due cause . And it also doesn’t make you correct for suggesting we almost throw the match just because we’re terrified of key players getting injured. Do city win the league without Haaland? What if he gets injured? You can use that argument about any key player for any side. We don’t just suddenly run scared of selecting our best players, if they don’t need a rest, just in case they get injured. Players will be rested if they need a rest, if they don’t they’ll play. It’s literally as simple as that. We don’t just play the second string as you were originally suggesting. But yeah, I’m clearly not very bright obviously. Neither is anyone else here who’s ridiculing your advocation of playing the kids at Preston. For the record also, us not very bright ones here realise finishing 4th is advantageous due to having the second leg at home, not the time of the kick off. The EFL also think that, hence rewarding the higher finishing play off teams with that clear advantage of playing at home in the 2nd leg. Geniuses like you though seem to disagree and don’t care if we play at home or away first. May want to tell that to the EFL as clearly it doesn’t matter so they need to re think their reward policy for teams finishing 3rd or 4th Cheers Einstein

Get over yourself for fucks sake. How far back did you have to trawl through to see that. Let’s be honest pal you had no fucking idea if he’d be any good or not, neither did I, I’m delighted he’s turned out to be brilliant but let’s not play the high and mighty here because your guess, which is what it was after a handful of games, happened to be correct. Forgive the rest of us after years of terrible management decisions, for having strong reservations. You’re not some Revolutionary genius. As for playing the game at a high standard, pray tell mr high and mighty, what level did you play at? Nice essay though, glad to know you don’t take things personally and don’t hold onto posts from months ago. Personally I think what you’re suggesting in this instance is ridiculous but don’t let that in the way of a personal dig and dredging up something from months ago that is totally irrelevant to what we’re discussing now. You need to accept when someone disagrees and stop getting so hurt and precious. You come across as a complete self entitled clown almost every time you post. No offence though

I think we should rest Tonda too, just incase he over exerts himself too much masterminding another decent performance in a meaningless game and his arms are aching from all the directing he’s doing, or he loses his voice and is unable to communicate and get his messages over properly for the play offs. Can never be too careful
-
It’s incredible how the probability and fear of someone getting injured has suddenly increased dramatically to coincide with a game people are deciding we need to rest every senior first team player for. Suddenly there’s a chance everyone is going to drop dead if they play another match before the play offs. Of course they’ll only get injured during this match though, and at no other time
-
Fucking hell

Does make me laugh that some people here are insisting we need to rest the entire first team on the off chance they get injured when the squad has been fine all season by and large , they are no more likely to get injured on Saturday as in training, or any other given game we’ve had over the last few months, where they didn’t get injured. Some of the mass panic is ridiculous. Play a team capable of winning the game, but rest players where it’s absolutely necessary. Anything else is incredibly counter productive to the form and continuity, cohesion and team spirit we’ve built up over the past few months. All this talk of playing kids is fucking ridiculous and smacks of panicking. I expect to see 4-5 players rested max , with capable replacements, and a view that we will be going out to win the game and give ourselves the best chance of finishing 4th for a second leg at st Mary’s. Resting players for the sake of it is just stupid when we still have something to play for.

Yes I am. Very late sending these out. Edited 14 minutes ago by Mboto Gorge I’ve phoned ticket office - tickets were apparently posted last week. Been advised that if not received by /on Friday to phone again on Friday and will be put on a list to pick up duplicate tickets from Preston ticket office on Saturday. Anyone experienced this before? I’d hate to travel all that way and there be any problem. I took a screenshot of my online booking receipt and reference. So if you show them that with all your correct details there shouldn’t be a problem I’d imagine. That’s what I’ll do if I don’t receive mine by Friday
-
We could possibly get £20-25m but as others have said, we ain’t getting £40m from anyone, as a championship club for a player who’s only played championship level football in this country. Bonkers

We need to rotate a bit , but not too much. We should rotate those who clearly need a rest but keep as much momentum and cohesion as possible for the play offs. There are probably 4-5 players we can and will rest, but I’d like to think we’d keep a steady core in the team and not fall into the trap of resting players for the sake of it. As has been mentioned, it’s a big advantage finishing 4th to finishing 5th, not least because of the stupid 12:30ko for the home leg if we finish 5th. I think Tonda will make the right call regardless
-
Not got mine yet either

About 75 tickets left as of right now. Guess these will go if we win tomorrow. Great effort none the less

This is where I’m at. Would be criminal not to go all out for a win against Ipswich. For starters we don’t want them celebrating promotion on our turf, and also, if we win it means that we beat Preston and the pressure is on them to win their games. We would go to Preston under zero pressure in my opinion as all eyes will be on Millwall and Ipswich with all the expectations on them to win. If they do win, we won’t exactly be gutted as it was expected anyway. Not like we’d have bottled it and be on a downer. All in all it’s no lose situation for us. But let’s at least go all out to take it to that scenario on the final day by doing our utmost to beat Ipswich and stick the pressure bang on them and Millwall on Saturday.
-
In true blackadder style …. “Not with a bayonet through his neck he couldn’t!”
-
Luckily for us, Ipswich are the one team who’ve played as many games as us over the last 2-3 weeks
-
What an absolutely ridiculous appointment that was in the first place.
-
This is still a huge game and one we really should be desperate to win. Looking forward to it
-
So it’s now confirmed that 84 points would’ve got us second place. Was always going to be unlikely, but if we’d won every game from last Tuesday onwards, we’d have got automatic promotion
-
Jesus Christ. That alone is enough for anyone to see he has got serious deficiencies in basic shot stopping. Should barely even be playing at pro level. League 2 at best
-
What makes me laugh is Stoke fans are now absolutely unanimous in their view that he’s one of the worst keepers they’ve ever had at the club , and they’ve only had to watch about 4-5 games to come to that landslide conclusion among their fan base: whereas some of our fans were still sticking up for him after 4 years of us enduring the same level of performance. Probably the same fans who gave the team a standing ovation during our 22/23 season when relegation was confirmed with one of the most Half arsed performances ever at home to Fulham. Staggering stuff
-
I agree, I didn’t say we would overhaul those 3 points. It’ll be play offs but taking to the final day will still be a great effort if we do beat Ipswich
-
So by my reckoning, regardless of what happens in any other game with anyone else, if we beat Ipswich it WILL go to the final game, with a worse case scenario that we will be 3 points behind both Millwall and Ipswich, and that’s if they both win all their other games.
-
Looks like we could finish 5th now, which amazingly is now the lowest we can possibly finish anyway, and it currently looks most like we will play Boro. Great effort from where we were in January. Also have that Very familiar feeling of Bazunu costing and hindering us, even when he’s playing for someone else. He’s like a turd that won’t flush.
