The good thing about us is that there will always be a small group of loyal supporters who will always be there for the club and the team, whatever the championship. Some supporters who hadn't come for years have come back since the arrival of Sport Republic, and even if some of my compatriots are a little disappointed, I personally remain positive, telling myself that a project takes time to set up and that it's not in 2 years that the first results will pay off. We always hope to fill the stadium, it's always nice to see people, but in France, without sporting results, you don't attract many people, and at the moment, it's cold, so people prefer to watch the match on television, knowing that the championship is free with Youtube this year.

There are around 42,000 inhabitants in Valenciennes, and the Stade du Hainaut has 25,172 seats. The Valenciennes metropolitan area has a population of around 195,000. When we were in Ligue 1 between 2011 and 2014, there were around 12,000 for the classic matches and more than 18,000 for the big games like those against Marseille, Lille, Lens, Paris and Lyon. The record attendance is 23,021 for the PSG reception in 2012. We actually have 2 clubs playing in Ligue 1 around 1 hour away: Lille LOSC and Racing Club de Lens, which are clubs that attract people and get results, so that's not in our favour. This year we have a loyal base of around 4,000 people who are always there, but after that we're not the best in France in terms of love of football.

There aren't many small teams left and we're playing against a team from the same league as us. Here's the table below: (L1) -> Ligue 1 (1st division) (L2) -> Ligue 2 (2nd division) (N) -> National (3rd division) (N2) -> National 2 (4th division) (N3) -> National 3 (5th division)

Hello folks. It's match day for Valenciennes as they travel to Le Mans in the French Cup (the stadium is next to the 24-hour Le Mans circuit, for those who know). Kick-off 8.45pm French time, broadcast in France on Bein Sport Max 7. I should have a streaming link for you shortly before kick-off. In my opinion, if we qualify, I'll be happy of course, but if we're eliminated, we'll be able to focus on the championship.

Hello friends, I hope you're well. I followed your team's score yesterday and I'm pleased that you won yesterday at Saint Mary's and in style. I hope that this victory will help the team to regain confidence and start building positive momentum for the future. It's going to be a long road and it's going to take time, but I hope that things will get better for you very soon. Have a great week, my friends.

After that, the transfer of players from one club to another belonging to the same owner is nothing new in modern football... Of course the €5m will do us good, I'm not saying otherwise, but on the one hand we're losing a player with potential, and it remains to be seen whether we'll recruit another similar player...

Joachim is the 3rd biggest transfer for Valenciennes: Kévin Cabral sold to LA Galaxy on 8 April 2021 for €5.4m Steve Savidan was sold to Stade Malherbe de Caen on 1 July 2008 for €5m. and Joachim in the last few days for €5m.

Hello friends, today is match day for Valenciennes at the Stade du Hainaut. It's the first league match of the year 2025, with the reception of Paris 13 Atletico. I'm hoping for a return to winning ways this evening! Link to watch the match: Nice day friends! Go VA!

That's probably one of the advantages of multiple ownership: it makes it easier to keep the best players.

I think that if the season goes on like this for you (I don't wish it on you, of course), it's possible that he'll make a few appearances on the pitch to prepare for next year. If not, I think he'll start with the B team.
-
I'm happy he's with you because he's a player who was coveted by other clubs, and with you he'll be able to make a lot more progress, I have no doubt about that.
-
In all sincerity, this player really does have the potential to have a great career. Of course, he still has a lot of work to do, but he's a serious and dedicated player both on and off the pitch.

It's official, Joachim is now in your home. I wish him every success in your home ! Allez Southampton, Allez Valenciennes!

I have no doubt that the €5 million will be put to good use here, and it's a very handsome sum indeed. I hope that both our clubs will enjoy better times in any case.

We currently have 2 players on loan: - Axel CAMBLAN from Stade Brestois 29 (playing in the Champions League this year) https://www.transfermarkt.fr/axel-camblan/profil/spieler/924800 and - Ousmane TOURE from Lille OSC (also playing in the Champions League). https://www.transfermarkt.fr/ousmane-toure/profil/spieler/990732 These are 2 6-month loans. We are still waiting for a few more players, although our new manager says he wants quality rather than quantity.

The latest news is that Joachim is no longer at Valenciennes. I went to see him at training last Saturday and he wasn't there. I think his arrival will be made official this week.

Glad to see the forum's back and to chat with you, my friends!

Good evening Fabrice! From what I can tell you about Joachim: - He's one of the players with the greatest potential to develop with us. - He trained with us at Valenciennes and has always been a good player, diligent both at school and at football. - He's 18 years old and still has his whole career ahead of him. - He is captain of the French U19 team - He has been one of our most-used players since the start of the season (11 games out of 13). - He's having a bit of trouble this season in the 3rd division because it's a league with a different mentality (aggressiveness, etc.). I can see him taking his first steps in the 2nd team with you and then, if he establishes himself quickly, making a few first-team appearances.
-
Last I heard, he'd be on loan to Valenciennes until the end of the 2024/2025 season, after which he'll be with you for good. To be continued!
