I just worry it will be too little too late. There is a monumental amount of effort required not just to build a well-sized, effective squad and pick the correct manager, but to reform the culture of the club and build a resilient attitude within the squad. Given SR’s track record, I worry they will underestimate this task and think a new keeper and new striker is enough to arrest a fall that has been ongoing since year 1.

This is it, isn’t it. Since the beginning they’ve brought in personnel who have spent their careers thus far at a lower level or club. Originally it was thought that this was to think differently or break new ground or some bollocks, but now it’s clear that SR can’t deal with someone who’s actually worked on the same level or similar sized club because their ineptitude will be exposed and pushed back against. It wasn't. Experience should count for something but as soon as that run got going it was clear SR would just give him the job. I think most of us were caught up with emotion (myself included, even calling myself a moron sarcastically for decrying him from the start) at finally being able to see some wins but the signs of being shaky were there. Once teams figured out how to neutralise us we've kind of reverted to type. After the Still debacle, and now this, I think it's clear we need a well-weathered manager, a veteran of the league. Though there seems to be this loser culture lingering within the squad. It's hard to put into words and quantify properly, and I can't lay down stats that could win people to my side on this, but our group seem to give up so quickly once plan A doesn't work. Even Scienza has faded in recent weeks. People tend to become, after all, the average of the people you spend the most time with.
