He often makes substitutions that damage our momentum, and his game management is now actively killing our ability to win. The Scienza → Downs choice today was a strong example of this. One of the best players on the pitch today, replaced early with a serial underperformer. Potentially the rationale was: Stewart was injured → Armstrong can't play as a central striker → Armstrong is the goal scorer and is performing well → Take off Scienza instead, we could try a two-striker system → Archer is more suited to a poacher role than target man → Downs has a superior physical profile, and getting a goal could raise his confidence and allow him to kick on. My belief is that Still overthinks his substitutions, resulting in baffling decisions and unnecessary system changes. He's not good at adapting to the present, and his inability to manage the flow of the game through sensible personnel changes is now a critical weakness. Whatever the reason, he needs to improve his game management because it's killing us. I could just be bullshitting though.

    3 Three games unbeaten
  5. Manning off please. Another ghost of the past that needs to be exorcised
  6. Recall bbd and put him up top
  7. If I was Will I’d go on hunger strike until I got a number 9.
  8. We’ll crack another one in shortly.
  9. Injured again 😂 couldnt make it up
  10. Very nice from Stewart
  11. McCarthy only one of ours still playing
  12. None of the relegated sides going up wouldn’t be surprising.
  13. He's not getting selected for the World Cup whilst playing in the Championship. If Pope gets injured and he gets a run in the side, he has every chance of being in the mix.

The unbeaten run was a decent achievement but what prevented us from getting automatics was losing to promotion rivals. He should’ve been sacked in the summer anyway, but it would have taken guts that SR didn’t have
  15. Knowing SR, he’ll be next season or the season after’s “experienced lad to hang around the building” following Walcott and Lallana.
  16. Another must win to build some confidence in the team really.
  17. On the same points Martin was on after 8 games now.
  18. Full-time. we limp on!
  19. We will go down as a club that had it all and GOT EVEN MORE Not STAYING IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP for a long time.
  20. We’ll go down as a club that had it all and threw it all away Not getting back to the PL for a long time.
  21. It could be a positive feedback loop. New manager comes in, sees Stephens has started under the last two or three (as captain no less), decides they should work backwards from him. Being a top guy in the dressing room probably contributes to that.
  22. They've scored 2 (two) goals this season, with 1 of them coming from a scrappy 1-0 win against the 22nd-placed side. It's never a dead cert but we should have too much for them even with Wilder back. We need to keep the same 11 as last week though, except with potentially Archer and Jelert starting, so we can start building relationships across the pitch.
  23. Blackburn perhaps? Finished 7th last year and currently sat in 20th on 6 points. Only appointed their manager in February, so a change may be seen as premature. Could be Derby alternatively - appointed Eustace in February and despite escaping relegation haven't kicked on yet this season.
