I understand what you're saying on paper, but my heart can't accept it. No way. Why do players have to believe in a manager to put their all in on the pitch? Many of us on this board have put a lot of effort in our own careers to move up onto the next level and better ourselves. Similarly, these players have had to back themselves through years of meat grinder youth football. But now, they have no intrinsic motivation? Don't they want to play at the highest level? And if they can reach the Premier League, they literally earnt the right to be there. Unless they've already accepted they can't hack it at the top level, and are dealing with the sobering realisation they've already peaked. Is it really acceptable to have players with a loser mentality like that?

yeah I’m on board with a stable starting 11, just pick the best 11 and give them the rest of the year even Downs is shit but has a decent physical profile I don’t know we just need to moor the team and have a bit of normality and stability

I believe the problems run deeper than the manager but the substitutions are killing our game and have only gotten worse really. Not advocating pulling the trigger purely because I’m not sure who would be substantially better and is available. But, if the people in charge do make a change then I wouldn’t protest.

If a change is made, I want Trollope, Lallana and Martin gone too.

I suspect the bad apples poisoning the changing room are the ones SR loves and extends the contracts of Just a hunch
  8. 2-0 Preston, as we cannot convert.
  9. We will always be Player Trading FC to some extent, but SR just blindly deploy the strategy in any old place instead of using 2-3 potential signings to bolster a strong base The acquisition of players in positions where you can supplement them with better players is not so much of a problem Fernandes, Dibling, Lavia (we still needed a more experienced CDM however) The appointment of players to positions where there can only really be one of them on the pitch and more broadly, spinal positions has lost us countless points. They also always fail Downs, Bazunu, Mara bare in mind part of the problem is the ridiculous bloat in the team which has been present for years which actually prevents players who could do something from even getting on the pitch and turning selection into a roulette/balancing act I long for days where we could have a 20-man squad
  10. played for Portsmouth for 8 years Can you imagine if we lose at Fratton with a skate manager? the board can absolutely get fucked on this one.
  11. I had also heard that Quarshie and Downs were decided to be bought regardless of Spors' plans. But a source I can't give I'm afraid.
  12. I've wondered if the 'hipster' appointments are increasingly who we can get rather than who they want. Didn't Jesse Marsch say something about them not having a clue back in 2023? If that's true, no wonder nobody decent wants to get near the club.
  13. Have you ever watched one of those series where a salesman starts with a pound and finds someone to trade it for an item of greater value, continuing until they land a house or a car? SR are doing the opposite. Well, I wouldn't mind buying the club for a pound myself.
  14. He doesn't deserve the pain and he cannot save us.
  15. Of course, because Downs was actually bought with next year in mind.
  16. After Hull I decided that I couldn't be bothered any more. Would you give an addict fourty pounds knowing how it would be spent?
  17. They are clueless. They were able to get us back to the PL mostly by leveraging the assets that were already there when they took over. Practically nothing from the Gao era remains now. We have a bloated, unbalanced squad; coaches that preside over failure; a barren womb of an academy. They know nothing about how to develop a football club.
  18. The Scienza -> Stephens sub was the turning point for me.
  19. Sell up please

    I think that's him done.
  21. We are going down say we are going down
  22. This is the nadir. The club hierarchy needs to be burnt to the ground, and rebuilt.
  23. Is it We want Venkys out or We are heading down?
