  1. Dunno if this has been mentioned before but a friend of mine says we are after elliot ward at coventry no source but he knows people of people as in marcus hall. i know of elliot and he a cracking defender just dont fit in with colman's plans. would be a great signing.

I think he was mentioned on this forum recently, but there are also a couple of CCC clubs after him. He's very tall, so would be handy.

  2. Pat,

The streams do not usually become live until around 5-10 minutes before kickoff so you will need to wait til then before getting a picture. Also the streams are always a few minutes behind "Live" so do not be surprised if the game doesn't appear to kick off until around 1505.

    HTH

    OK thanks.

  3. Northampton v Southampton FA Cup

    KICK OFF//15.00GMT//16.00CET//10.00EST//01.00AEST

STAR SPORTS - TVU Player - Sopcast - TVAnts - TVAnts - UUSee - PPMate

    P2P4U - Browser

    .

I've downloaded Sopcast and TV Ants and I can't get a picture on any of these links. Do you know if any of them are showing it on Windows Media Player?

There doesn't seem to be a link to the Polish channel Sport Klub, which I note is showing the game (as they did for Bristol Rovers).

  4. If Adam continues to play as he has this season, and improves, then I can see his sights being set a little higher than 'Boro though.

The good news for us though is as his stock grows, so does the price tag. We must be in a position now that if we let quality go - we buy quality back in.

    I fear Bournemouth have a 25% sell-on clause though.

  5. I doubt if there'll be anything for tonight but I see that Saturday's cup game against Northampton is being televised by the same SportKlub channels that showed the previous round vs Bristol Rovers so there may be some streams for that.

Is that through the livefooty site?

I used that for the Bristol Rovers game. Polish swines showed highlights of the 4-3 debacle at Tranmere at half-time. Perhaps they've got our defeat at Port Vale in 94 lined up for this Saturday.

  6. Who's on it, heres 2 definites:

    Diego Maradonna

Thierry (Hands off the Guinness) Henry

    Neil Warnock

    Billy Davies

    Roy Keane

    Ian Wright

    David Speedie

  7. Have to agree with Chapel-End Charlie - Brighton played very well and made us look ordinary. We didn't have a plan B, they didn't need one as their plan A worked a treat.

My biggest disappointment was that we didn't try anything more radical than switching the ball from wing to wing in an effort to disrupt them - they had us totally sussed out and neutralised most of our attacks. Our game was crying out for someone to try a one-two with Rickie through the centre.

This is very true. A lot of our possession play was just passing it across to James, who would cross from too deep and we would then lose possession. There were one or two exceptions (e.g. the great cross for Lallana's header in the second-half) but by and large our approach suited Brighton.

  8. Still open, however I recommend you get there before the bouncer gets on the door.

I know the bouncer on the door, he can't read peoples ID without his glasses, which he never wears, and he charges people to get in!

The Maple Leaff has a bouncer???!!!???

  9. One of my favourite memories from the Leaff was from an evening League Cup game against Liverpool at the Dell (late 90's). We went there for a pre-match pint or two, and noticed some kind of freshers bash was happening in the other bar (for Southampton Institute???). We went back to the Leaff after aeeing Saints win and there was a lad with his face in the grass outside completely and utterly bladdered.

Can remember Paul Singh opening the bar for us in his dressing gown as well. The man is a legend.

  10. I used to use that as my pre-match wtering hole up until leaving The Dell for SMS.

    Was a cracking wee place.

They did do minibuses to SMS for the first couple of years afrer moving to SMS, which was a fairly hair-raising experience with Sukhi at the wheel. Unfortunately Sukhi ended up losing his licence, which wouldn't have been a complete surprise to the Leaff regulars.

I've been going in there for home games for about 10 years, there are very few places where you will get a more hospitable welcome. Attending a SISA meeting led me to the place, I thought it was the best-kept secret in Southampton.

Really hope they'll be open again soon.

  11. I am a neighbour to one of the owners, and he told me it was being refurbed and would re-open when completed. Dont know time scale though.

OK cheers. It's a bit funny, they keep seeming to have refurbs.

  12. Not sure if this should be in The Lounge (apologies if so), but does anybody know if the Maple Leaff on the Polygon is still going? I've heard rumours of them being shut recently.

Big shame if Paul Singh et al aren't still open for business. Has been a cracking pre-match and post-match venue for a few bevvies over the years.

Would be grateful if anybody knows. Cheers.

  13. In my top 5 worst ever Saints players. Lee Todd is also there, as is Oliver Lancashire now. And they are all ahead of Ali Dia.

Wise words, Rattlehead. Potter, Todd and Lancashire are my worst 3 over the last 20 years. It is surreal that Potter had an involvement in the 6-3 game. He was beyond inept.

  14. Adam Leitch lives in Scotland FFS.

Yup, heard him saying this when commentating on the Carlisle away game on Solent. I thought he came across as an articulate guy with a genuine passion for Saints, would be good to hear him commentating more often, as Merrington does have a tendency to repeat himself and state the blindingly obvious.

  15. Humph..! that's your opinion. Not a single umm or err from Franny. Not a single diffrent class or cliche. Just clear opinion. I thought he did quite well during his half-time stint. Well done Franny.

Agreed. I thought he did fine, tried not to come across as overly biased in our favour, though did let his guard slip once or twice. Quite articulate I thought.
