Am I being thick here? Why would any pub in Portsmouth allow a load of Saints fans in to watch the game on TV? Surely that would have the dibble all over it as soon as they got wind of it. There are more than enough pubs in Cardiff City Centre for visiting fans to spread themselves across in a vaguely non-threatening way. But Portsmouth??? I can't see that happening.

The support was good last night, and we got our reward. I think sometimes our support is better when we only have 1,000 or so there, but we all get behind the team, rather than 3,000 when the support can often be diluted and more sporadic. Last night for me was a bit of a throwback to away games in the 90’s when we had less fans going, but everyone there was right up for it. Reminded me in particular of the 5-4 at Carrow Road, which I was also very lucky to be at.

I really like powerfully visual protests which the Board can’t write off as being a “mob minority”. My favourite is everybody getting in the ground 15 minutes late. Sheff Wed fans did this brilliantly earlier this season. However a large section of our fans are more concerned about drinking in the Sport Republic gulags and singing Scouser songs, so the chance of mobilising them into a co-ordinated protest such as this are virtually nil.
