I should have said "shown the door long before now".

Well it does mean we have a day off from the misery today so there is that. Rather strangely I find myself missing the discussion of another abject defeat.

Just seen Nathan Jones in the telly getting some praise. Picking someone from the lower leagues has not worked all that well for Saints. Rohl would be another shot in the dark from a management team that ought to have been shown the door by now.

When I were a Woolston lad there was no other team to think about following except Saints. Quite a long time ago mind. These days there's plastics everywhere.

Where is another point going to come from? That lot just aren't up to it. Unfit. No confidence. Nothing.

Strangely none of the goals have been down to the man marking this time. Two set pieces poorly defended and Downes giving it away again.

I'm beginning to think that Saints are rather frail at the back. 3-0.

Pretty much the sort of starting line up I expected. I'd like to say I don't care but I do. I can only hope that there's some sort of unfathomable master plan to make Chelsea fall down laughing.

The frequency with which opponents simply gallop unchallenged through the centre of Saints midfield and defence is becoming a bit tedious. Maybe it's time to try something different. Maybe 4 at the back and ditch the man-to-man stuff just to see how it goes in these remaining pre-Championship friendlies.
