French jornalist Romain Molina says Liebherr wants to sell
adrian lord replied to Bewildered's topic in The Saints
Will we attract Arab money? Are there any Emirates, Sheiks or Gulf states left that are yet to buy a trophy club? Or will we be bought by an Eastern billionaire eccentric, a la Tan? American investors in 'soccer' have caught colds so I doubt we will see anyone from across the pond step in, but you never know... -
I think he will go. The Cork/Clyne/Wanyama group now looking vulnerable too, although they will struggle to attract CL club interest but may be tempted into sideways moves for more ambitious clubs and higher wages - Everton, Newcastle et al.

When will J W-P and Cork get on the conveyor belt up the M3? -
Twitter starting to link Ward-Prowse with Man City. The next layer - Cork/Clyne/Wanyama starting to look very vulnerable. This ain't over yet by a long chalk.

Not all going sweetly for the defectors: Judas has done his knee and now Shaw feels the wrath of van Gaal: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/10996925/Louis-van-Gaal-says-Luke-Shaw-not-fit-enough-to-meet-his-and-Manchester-Uniteds-demands-and-will-train-alone.html

Kl was never interested in the long haul and never shared her father's passion for football, let alone Saints. She is getting out at earliest opportunity that can offers a big pay day. This was clearly the agenda behind Cortese's ousting and some of us read the writing on the wall then, but were derided for posting. -
Big Vic has been noticeably absent from transfer speculation - obviously he must be up to the job...

Morgan and Jay to Follow According to Simon Peach

Both - it was obviously gallows humour. He's gonna leave soon at this rate. The deal is all over the BBC website for Spurs. -
Why is it offensive to question her motives as owner? She is not Mother Theresa, but a Heiress to billions who never needed to work a day in her life.

For Sale: One very well appointed and highly regarded Football Academy, excellent location in southern England, and with a magnificent annual yield of exceptional talent and financial income. A modestly-sized football club annexe is also part of the estate parcel, suitable for publicity purposes and showcasing Academy products to the market. There are some liabilities and covenants on the latter, largely related to a protected colony of tens of thousands of rare-breed 'fans' that flock to the site every 2 weeks in the winter. POA, please contact Katerina Liebherr.

Kruger, it is becoming clear, is merely a waxwork stooge appointment.

Koeman can't possibly have signed up for this. Gone by end of the week a possibility, but will have done very well to see in the New Year at Saints.

Jose Mourinho: Signing Luke Shaw would have "killed" Chelsea
adrian lord replied to doddisalegend's topic in The Saints
He's simply trying to sow the seeds of discontent in the Man u dressing room, and rile van Gaal to boot. -
I find this scenario seductive, but the only incongruent bit is the appointment of Koeman. Find it hard to believe he's get conned, and if he has, he will be out by Christmas if not a lot earlier.
-
Fragile, and could never play 90 mins at best of times.
-
I'll raise to £51.
-
The academy is KL's source of pocket-money: no way will she close such an incredibly profitable machine down, it would be insane. It is a licence to print money, that academy.
-
Can't see Koeman lasting much past Christmas.
-
precisley - those chumps are simply doing her bidding.
-
Talk about profit-taking by KL...! Either she's: 1) selling the club, and asset-stripping out the software first, or 2) playing a very high-risk business model of hoping we can stay up on a shoestring, forcing through a new Academy generation every year, and flogging them at inflated prices every pre-season. If it is option 2, then we are perennially going to have no ambition as a football club and primarily be an Academy. In fact you can start to see the sense in this if you are a business-woman and not a fan. The risks though are relegation and/or the Academy having a few generations of relative flops. I guess she thinks the parachute-payments mitigate relegation risk.
