Players get treatment every time they fall over these days. It’s turning the game into American football in the sense that vast periods of the game are standing around doing nothing waiting for treatment to end, and then there’s short bursts of set piece ‘plays’ before the next long tedious interval.

Definitely. We’ve been a zombie club from the Gao era on. I could cope with his absentee, remote stewardship, that was for the most part caused by the Chinese government who shafted him with the sudden change of monetary outflow policy a matter of weeks after he bought the place, but these shallow shysters that are running the show now in the form of Ankersen et al feel sleazy and make me uneasy.
