Whatever anyone thinks and whatever stupid things he's said, the guy renounced his royal heritage in two other nations and gave up a career in the navy to marry and stand by the Queen, and then went on to do an enormous amount of charity work throughout his life right up until a couple of years ago. If you look at everything he's done and the differences he's made, be leaves behind an incredible legacy. RIP.

How are we supposed to replace Ings with a player of equal quality? We'd have to spend all of his transfer fee plus millions more on wages and signing bonus to tempt that level of player to come to us, and even then they might still tell us to fuck off. The summer we replaced Lallana, Shaw and Lambert with Tadic, Bertrand and Pelle shows that we don't need to be finding the kind of expensive "proven" talent you're asking for, we just need to do some actual decent scouting.

Looks so much more confident in coming for crosses now which is huge. I know some people were unsure about his punching but at least he was connecting with them rather than missing them entirely, and if they were more up than away that at least gives himself and the defence a moment to set themselves. Given our lack of funds and other areas of the squad requiring investment urgently in the summer, I would be fine with him being number 1 next year. McCarthy should be done now - and honestly we should be looking to Harry Lewis to be reserve keeper at his age, so either he's good enough and we shift McCarthy and Gunn or he's not and we let him go.
