Yep, I have a strange feeling that long-term this season might be seen as a turning point for the club
With a completely new board, new management, get rid of the slackers and prima donnas, and start re-building in League 1
The enthusiasm will be ignited again for many fans
Steady....you'll be accused of being in the "Admin is great. That's all I ever wanted in life" club by certain interpretationalists on here....
-
Grateful if you could post a list of the posters who were "campaigning" or "wished for" adminsitration so we know who we're talking about here. In the plethora of posts we've had about this I'm yet to see anyone able to quote more than a handful of 'suspects'.
Thanks.
Any chance of this list? Ta.
-
This one is ever so slightly more 'amusing' Phil....
-
bottom line is that we have to win games.
Southampton? Win games? Computer says "No"...

I met a billionaire a couple of weeks ago. He talked a lot about Southampton and keeping his yacht on the Hamble. I can only assume from that he is going to buy us.
What colour was his tie?

OK....how about turning this argument on it's head....
Someone name a better method of achieving a fresh start in the boardroom other than Administration. (By "fresh start" I mean seeing the back of Lowe, Wilde and Crouch).
I'm not in the "Admin must be good by definition because there was no other way" camp but I'm not sure what other camp to put my foot in as all we get on here is one camp criticising another rather than any truley fresh ideas.
So, back to the question....name a better way of getting to the desired "fresh start" position than via Admin.
Cheers.

Nice one Derry. Keep up the good work. Cheers

Thanks, but already found it and commented on it on post #33 above. Cheers
And, just to reiterate....the poll was a loaded question. See above for alternative way of asking the question.

It's OK...I've found it....
http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=9838&highlight=administration
The question wasn't as "black and white" as being suggested on here....it was about the technicalities of going into Admin before or after the deadline....i.e. it was a loaded question.
I'm sure if you asked the question: "Would you prefer to go into Administration even if there's a good chance of surviving and prospering without it?" then you would get a different percentage.
Still, it makes the debate more interesting to ignore the small print

There is a thread with a poll and bout a third voted to go into administration
Link please. Cheers. (need to see how the question was worded - thanks)

Blamed bad management, too many managers and lack of stability on our downfall.....nothing that we didn't all already know.
He also said that there were 2 or 3 serious contenders interested in buying the club but he is not involved with any of them.
Out of choice?

Now that the inevitable has happened, I wonder what people think, now that they reflect on the consequences. Many on this board have been campaigning for administration for a long time,as a way of ridding the club of a personality they disliked and reducing the debt in some way. Some, myself included, viewed it as the worst of all outcomes, demoralising for the players and employees, with uncertainty replacing hope.
The team look shattered to me, with their confidence destroyed. I can't see an alternative to relegation and a long, long fight to rebuild the club and a continual risk that the team will spend as long in Division One/Two as it did in the Premiership/Championship.
I wonder how many of the posters that wanted administration will say that the situation we are in now, is a good place to be. I also wonder what the true "surge" of support has been since Lowe has gone and the "fans" fighting for his removal flooded back to St. Marys. Cue replies of "It's too early to tell". That won't wash for me, because there is no way this course will ever be better than if the fans had kept going and administration had been avoided.
They say be careful what you wish for, as it may come true. Never has this been more apt...

BTW....I see Mr Jackson (cherrypip) was logged in last week for the first time in over a year....how long before we get a post? What was the name of that company he set up when pulling together the "Barry the briefcase" consortium in 2007? Might be worth a quick look....
-
Don't forget that the administrators deal with serious corporate players all the time. They will soon see Jackson etc for the non-entities they are. That said, they have a duty to treat any enquiry as credible ab initio even if it is quickly shown to be otherwise.
Weren't Begbies Traynor the administrators for Bournemouth though...? How short are their memories....?
-
I dont know Mark Jackson other than what he posted on here as LLS. How is he messing things up?
If the saints forum database hadn't become "corrupted" (
) last august we'd have some choice exhibits to refer back to. Mind you, a quick google on 'marc Jackson" + "Bournemouth" will equally suffice.
One question... How aware is Fry of Jackson's past 'credentials'??
-
Here's a funny thing Mike, the ones excuse that always being trotted out when we screwed up at games with 20,000 attendances plus was that the boys were intimidated by the big crowds/big games. Now it appears that the games of 20,000 less are also to blame for our demise...
Ha! Well remembered that man. I recall that OS article too. I remember commenting at the time that there was an easy solution to having too big crowds. It's true what they say about true words and jest...
-
I hear the boardroom was a bit of a bunfight last week.
Bunfight? As in more than one bidder met with Fry at the same time? Sounds like organized chaos to me. No wonder some decent people have seemingly lost the will.

Sorry...No clue again ottery...current Chairman..Any names for dimbo like me.
It's either dave jones or ken tointon.
Who?
Indeed.
One word: rudderless
-
He will clearly sell the club as soon as possible before he gets a bad name in football circles...Peeps are already calling him the second coming of Rupert...:smt082
Sorry Rupoerts Disciples..I really can't help myself.
I wasn't asking about Mr Fry....he's looking after Southampton Leisure Holdings.....I was asking about the views of the current chairman of the Football Club....what does he think about the management situation over the next 5 games....will he stick with Wotte for example?
-
Differences? They worked together as a seamless team. Didn't anyone notice? The boardroom banged on about it enough times.....
-
What does the acting Chairman of the FOOTBALL CLUB have to say about it all?
-
Allen made an offer, lowe being lowe said i want more, allen made a new offer take it or leave it, again lowe said no, couple of weeks later lowe phoned his representatives and said i am ready to do the deal etc etc, allens reps said that he had his chance and he blew it.
You have a copy of those emails too, eh? Make great reading don't they? I think we should post them on here one day.
-
Mark Fry, can you confirm that neither you nor any associates will be paid billable hours and expenses to sit through the game at Molineux? I'm all for you trying to recoup all you can for the creditors, but while the long-suffering fans paid for their tickets and travel expenses, I'm pretty sure they will not be too happy throwing more money at the club, if you billed five grand or so to Southampton Leisure Holdings plc for attending that comedy show and the free after match ****tails.
Fair point. No doubt Mr Fry and his company will be going about their business in a completely transparent manner and will thus be publishing their expenses on a regular basis....
