Is it logical to assume that Vulcan (Paul Allen's investment company) would be looking at the prospects of buying an available/on-the-market English League football club as a matter of course?
After all, their remit as a company is to seek investment in the worldwide sporting sector (amongst others). As such, to not be showing an interest in a relatively high profile club that is on the open market would mean they're not actually doing their job?
So, on that logical basis, I hereby declare that Mr Allen's advisors must, by definition, be involved.

How about someone post a link to the original article so we can make a proper judgement on the semantics? All I can see is a cut and paste job which may not include everything and/or in context?
Call me old fashioned....

ah a swedish chef.sounds like something out of the muppets
Red tie? Tick
Rating = 9

Carlos Slim obviously wants to get his wallet open - he was allegedly interested in buying the Honda F1 team at one point. The lure of St Marys is greater than the idea of swanning around the world with the Grand Prix circus?
Better? Doubt it.
Cheaper? Just a tad

If someone wanted to take over us so badly then they would of done it over the last couple of years where they had no competition and only had to offer Rupert 50p a share.
Why get involved in a bidding war with other supposing giants?
Taking a zero off the 50p share price might play a part.

We ought to introduce a rumour rating
0 - I made it up

8. A former director told me
9. The administrator told me
10. Its me putting in a bid
Didn't we have a similar system in the halcyon takeover days? I seem to remember Life Long scoring himself a 10 every time....

None other than Carlos Slim Helú. Apparently he is worth $35 billion and has followed Saints for some time as he thinks we are a sleeping giant with the greatest fan base and thinks we should be challenging for Champions League football.
He qualifies in the tie department...

I was "having a small dig" at NineteenCanteen because he has started to make some good and valid points but still unfortunately leaves room for others to attack him and turn good debates into arguments, simply because he doesn't quite
Doesn't quite what?
(well, I thought I was being amusing and that's what matters at the end of the day)
-
He looks like the guy out of coronation street who plays Dev's uncle or something like that.
Who, Barry or Mukesh?
Can't be him anyway....no red tie
-
Thanks
The Falcon it is then
I apologise for the spelling, been at work so could not get on the forum so i asked my 13 year old boy to find out. He will be told off as his spelling is crap.
What school does he go to? I'll get on the case for you. He sounds like yet another victim of Labour's dumbing down of education standards. I saw an O-level 'equivalent' exam paper the other day and I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. My 8 year old was able to answer most of the questions. This country is going down the pan, I tell ya (you).

Pathetic.
Who, Barry the Briefcase? He's a legend.

We're in the stickiest situation since Sticky the Stick Insect got stuck on a sticky bun

By the way, anyone else notice Mukesh's penchant for red ties?

I have been posting ref Anil Ambani for a considerable amount of time,i think trousers will vouch for that,
I can indeed;)

The problem Luton had with their holding company wasn't that it was in debt, it was that they used it to pay agents, which is strictly against the FA's rules.

HaHaHa, Trousers. Why the picture of Roland Rat? Is it because he was the only Rat ever to save a sinking ship? And is our dear ole Rupes the one that might have saved this one by jumping ship, but by the device of the administration of the PLC and not the club, left the ship's rudder headed away from the rocks and towards calmer waters?
Not quite as imaginative as that I'm afraid.
Roland Rat = TV-am = Nick Owen = Luton Town
There's got to be an outlet for my never ending talent somewhere....

Heard the LM was meeting with the Administrators today, anyone heard this or anything else on why he is there?
Was that chap from the council with him this time?
