What would a fair per centage of the original price be for selling a Nikon DSLR camera and lens be? This camera + lens kit is four years old. 50%? 40%? etc. Thanks for any info about this.

Just by chance I found a recent album release by Kevin Ayers (just a few years ago) at my local library. It's called The Unfairground. It's very good. Sounds a lot like the old LPs (interesting, varied instrumentation and melliflous, baritone vocals). Of special interest to keen fans.

Where to start? - the late piano concertos by Mozart - Bach's Brandenburg Concertos - Vivaldi's Four Seasons - Handel's Water Music and the 12 Concerti Grossi 0p. 6 - Haydn's London Symphonies - Beethoven's symphonies (especially # 3, 5, 7 & 9) - Beethoven's piano concertos - Mendelssohn's A Midsummer's Night Dream, his symphonies and the violin concerto - Chopin's waltzes and nocturnes (played by Rubinstein) - Tchaikovsky's piano concerto, ballet music, and Symphony No. 6 - Mahler's early symphonies (#1 and #4 are the most accessible) - Sibelius's symphonies - Ravel's orchestral pieces - Erik Satie's quirky piano pieces - Vaughan Williams' symphonies - Stravinsky's early ballets: The Firebird, Petrushka, and The Rite of Spring

Even better is Concert For George. Produced by Clapton. Good performances and the sound is great. A moving tribute to Harrison.

Obviously a ridiculous attitude! Just to pick one example from musicians I've seen performing live recently, Richard Thompson is aged 61 and is still writing great songs and, more importantly, playing amazing acoustic AND electric guitar in concert. Muddy Waters won grammy awards in 1977, 1978 AND 1979 at the age of 62, 63 and 64. Leopold Stokowski conducted a symphony orchestra at the age of 91 and was still recording classical albums in his mid-90s. John Lee Hooker opend his own night club - performing there - in his mid-80s. Johnny Cash recorded some of his most-acclaimed albums (the American series) in his 60s. etc., etc. P.S. I just read the previous post - how could I have forgotten Leonard Cohen? Superb performances every night in his recent, gruelling world tour in his mid-70s.

Sarah Palin says "Obviously, we’ve gotta stand with our North Korean allies". Good grief! [And it wasn't a slip of the tongue - she said North Korea three times in that interview. So much for the Korean War.]

He reminds me of Anders S. Seldom seems to show his true potential. And never scores. And his habit of taking needless yellow cards is irritating.

Merrington. I found Case to be too negative. And I prefer the whispered Geordie twang to the Scouse whine.

What bothers me is this strange locution in the Echo article: "the Daily Echo can this morning reveal". And the author refers to the image as a "masterpiece". Really?

Amazing. I've just spent about twenty minutes checking it out. You can zoom in and out. Turn 360 degrees. Switch on a map to the left so that you can compare the photo image to the map. Very high resolution, too. Impressive. Thanks!

Well, your assumption is wrong. Lennon "doesn't get away with it". I think it's generally acknowledged that the solo work of all four former Beatles is wildly uneven. Lennon's too. When you refer to the music on Double Fantasy, do you mean John's, Yoko's or both?

Club versus Country? A study into football fan loyalty

A good album, compared to some of the other dross that McCartney released as a solo artist. Because of that, however, it is over-rated, in my opinion. Still, several good tracks on there. And I don't uderstand how a "Beatkes fan" could have such a negative view of Ringo. He - and the others in the band - paid their dues over a long and exhausting decade. Nothing but respect from me - despite any failings he might show (nobody's oerfect, eh?!).

Saints/Pardew fiasco to enter spotlight
Hamilton Saint replied to georgeweahscousin's topic in The Saints
The original statement: "Somebody was punched. Not Pardew." This means that Pardew was not the "somebody" who was punched. [Passive voice indicates the subject receiving the action.] If the intended meaning was that Pardew did not throw the punch, the original staement would have been: "Somebody was punched. But not by Pardew." HTH! -

Do you listen to it for game commentary? It has connected to the Bournemouth game, instead of the Saints game, three times in the last four weeks. Today it had two commentaries running simultaneously! Took about 15-20 minutes to fix the problem.
