  1. Was he as god as Le Tissier?
  2. Do you thank people who serve you in a pub? In a restaurant? In a shop? Why thank them, when they're getting paid? I suppose you scowl and grumble and stomp out?
  3. Really?! Is that a safe assumption? Time to shift from entitlement mode to gratitude mode, methinks.
  4. Seize the Prime Minister?
  5. I always recommend albums, rather than songs (shows my age, eh?!). So, if you're into the rocky side of jazz-rock, try their second album, Coutdown to Ecstasy (fantastic - my favourite!); if you lean towards the jazzy side of jazz-rock, try their sixth album, Aja (most people's favourite, apparently).
  6. That's the name of the club. It's not a motto; and it's not in Latin.
  7. Very simple: we should practise set-pieces at both ends of the pitch. Forget the conundrum, just do it! Practice makes perfect, etc., etc. P.S. We scored from at least two set-pieces last game.
  8. 3 wins and 2 draws?
  9. ... love and height... ?
  10. Someone should explain that we read left-to-right, top-to-bottom. So, if it does say anything, it's ZOIN, not ZION. But it's silly, anyway. If they really do believe that nonsense, let them boycott. No response required - they just need to be laughed at. A terrible logo, btw.
  11. One step at a time!
  12. You didn't read the OP, did you? [nos es excrementum]
  13. semper ubi sub ubi
  14. Come on Saints Player!
  15. The Guns of Navarone is a good action film, but much of the script and acting is terrible. Having said that, I still give it a watch once every few years.
  16. Thanks for the link to the previous discussion. I missed that - not knowing the name of the album. Cheers!
  17. Anyone heard the new album yet? Verdict? From the little I've read about it so far, it sounded like it was similar to Kid A. Just wondering about that.
  18. Latter-Day Saints Book of Saints
  19. All Saints Days Lives of the Saints Litany of the Saints (with appropriate sub-title to delineate the precise subject of the book)
  20. Stephen Stills auditioned unsuccessfully for the Monkees in 1966. He looked a bit too old for the part and had bad hair and teeth (falling out - hair and teeth).
  21. You is wrong.
  22. He starts a thread about Steely Dan and you jump in about the Stone Roses. I don't get it. What about the 20s, 30s and 40s, btw? Might give them a listen? You owe it to yourself. A brilliant band. Fantastic fusion of rock and jazz. One of the best recording acts of the 70s.
  23. Well, I thought about that, but the OP does say in his message, "What about WW2", which opens it up to any film about the war, right? If you want to restrict it to "NAZI war film" - well, what does that mean? Films made by the Nazis (e.g., Triumph of the Will)? Or films focused on the rise and fall of the Nazi party?
  24. The Great Escape The Longest Day Downfall A Bridge Too Far Bridge on the River Kwai Hope and Glory [the war from a young boy's perspective] [Band of Brothers - not a feature film, I know - but a great TV series]
