Plus the previous Newcastle link = BIDDING WAR! Would be a shame if he went, would like to see him here for another couple of seasons. I wonder what fee we could get for him? £25M?
-
Gives him more time to play Monopoly.

The people's game.

Some interesting snippets in that: how close to the club are the Mail? Mentions "new goalkeeper, centre-back and reinforcements in attack." And FF being offered a new deal??!
-
Absolutely. The erosion in quality of our squad since Koeman has been horrific. However I think we did better last summer than for some years, and hopefully with the clever ex-Brentford guy involved we can do even better this time around. Tough to make immediate impact without some serious £££ though. I am quite looking forward to the summer actually: rebuild, refresh and go again.

It was saddening to hear our fans yesterday: though I absolutely understand the frustration. Shame that the great relationship that was in place seems to have eroded so much.

Is Fat Frank a better manager than Ralph?

Suggestions of something of a clear out of first team players: maybe a few of them are not only on the beach, but mentally out of the club.

There was a tanker delivering KY Jelly to St Mary's earlier on. That should make things go smoother.

That is a real possibility of course: early investment, some exciting Tino-style deals, then a late JWP sale to cover the outlay. We just don't know, and won't until it happens. Hopefully my original scenario is closer to the mark! Whatever: I think we'll have a very different squad next year.

SR want to do the "buy top, young prospects, play them, sell at a big profit, rinse and repeat" model. That's pretty much a known I think. I hope, hope, hope that they've got some ££ to kick off the process. Surely that would be part of the business plan? An outlay £50-£70m now should generate £100-£130m in the next few years, if they're as smart as they're meant to be. Meaning a summer where we get rid of dross, without having to sell our best to reinvest. Or am I being too optimistic?

So frustrating. I like RH and he has delivered some great performances. He's got an average to shit squad, and little opportunity to invest. He's got a patched together coaching team: really, how many of our first team coaches would get jobs at other EPL clubs? So he's not got an ideal base for success. Its a real shame. But he's also seemingly stubborn, makes some woeful team selections and tactical decisions, and simply can't influence things 'in game'. And there's just too many truly awful performances. I remain, just, only just, on the 'RH in' bandwagon. Let's freshen up the squad, get him a new coaching team and go again next season. Something needs to change. That said: I wouldn't shed a tear if he left or was fired.

Fuck me. Sideshow Bob is coming on.

Fans chanting 'you don't know what you're doing' at that substitution.
-
Staggering that we haven't made another change yet.

Sharp finish from AA. Just offside.
-
Like that team. We've brought in more pace, and greater running from midfield in the shape of Diallo. Hoping he and AA can deliver a performance. And the youngster on the bench: love to see that.
-
Impressive. But he's no Iain Dowie.
-
This. Really hoping to see some new blood come in this summer.
-
Wonder if Pep will call it a day at City? (Or get fired).
-
Yep. Some very dodgy decisions.
-
Remember that every true football fan wants them to win it. They're the bestestest.

I was thinking the same! Imagine the SWF backlash if RH oversaw a performance like this.
