  1. Top of the league, top goalscorers, 13 games winning streak at home, best team for years = 23,000 Promotion day last may = 32,000 JPT 50,000 + FFS
  2. Just to clarify my origional post-he is not a mate just someone who sits behind me and it did say I would have paid the tenner and argued later Hatch if you want to send me the £10 I'll give it to him wed night!
  3. A fellow Kingsland ST holder was explaining yesterday why he missed the Forest game. On arrival at turnstyle realised he had brought last year's ST book by mistake. Stewards would not let him in so was sent to TO, after checking he was who he said he was etc they agreed to issue a replacement ticket for the game at the cost of £10!.Understandably having spent over £500 for the privalege of reserving that seat for the season and the TO refusal to budge he told them to stuff it and drove back to Basingstoke. Think I would have paid up and then wrote to club to try and reclaim.
  4. Joey Barton Now on sky "goals on sunday", would never defend some on his onfield antics but speaks like a true fan. At least he's wearing a great Bob Dylan T shirt Now off to game
  5. Is it a seat with a restricted view?
  6. What would it have taken for you to enjoy it?
  7. A Burnley fan I know sent me this: Seems like Burnley & Southampton are going in different directions at the moment Clarets fans not had a good couple of weeks with the loss of Eagles,Mears, fox and Alexander moving on and constant rumours about Rodriguez and no major signings being made Most clarets fans dissapointed we didnt get Cork, but money talks & Burnley have a strict wage structure, which by the way are trying to lower, hence the sale of the bigger earners. I think he is a stylish player when on the ball, but he didnt seem to get involved enough, but still prefer him to be in our side than yours ! Fox had a great start to his Burnley career scoring a cracker on his debut v West Wam in the premier league so could do nothing wrong in the fans eyes for a while, but like many others tailed off in form in recent games. He likes to get forward, but on many occasions gets caught out too far forward and relies on his central defenders to get him out of difficult situations. Not too bothered that he has gone as we have a lad in the reserves who i feel is just as good,in my opinion anyway. Our biggest problem with the sale is that our board seem to be selling and Eddie not being the man who has the say as to who is being sold. Jay Rodriguez is Burnley born and bred and is our future,so if he was to be sold i dont think the fans could take it. But we know every player has his price and a bid upwards of £5M,well you never know. He is a good player and am sure he will be a great player in the premiership eventually. Good luck for the season
  8. Don't worry having been going to Saints games for 50 years these feet are firmly planted ! I just think that this is the fittest, most together and talented squad I have seen here for a long time and with owner/management stability should be able to mount a serious challenge. That's not to say I woudn't be happy with mid table consolidation just think we are capable of more
  9. Despite the stated 5 year plan I think that NC & NA believe that with a couple of additions this squad is good enough for a top six finish this season. Given that, should we change a winning team and play the other squad against Torquay? I would like to see Bart, Butterfield, Seaborne, Jaidi, Chaplow, Barnard, Forte and Holmes all given a place in the squad and protect the “main men” for the important stuff.
  10. Just spoke to TO whilst booking my Torquay ticket , he checked sales and said 25,000 so far (incl aways)
  11. I would love to see Connolly as a regular starter but he appears to be so injury prone I can't belive he could last a full season and will therefore be no more than a good squad player.
  12. Sorry missed that it was about Boyd rather than CMS my mistake
  13. Okay and I agree with you that with a different attitude they could have sold more which dissapoints me. If we are top six at Xmas we will be getting plenty of walk ups, bottom six and struggling will be a different scenario and it will be ST & the fathful few like 3/4 seasons ago and it's depressing to see SMS half full. Not convinced many would buy ST just to ensure a seat for skates among others.
  14. Surely he would have played alongside Lambert (as opposed to Barnard/Connolly/Guly) and I think that partnership would have got a hatful, don't think he would have been competing with Adam for the same spot. Still water under the bridge now...
  15. This would be a very quiet board if we were only allowed to debate things the once!
  16. Tad harsh as I have no axe to grind with anyone I have been a regular at Dell/SMS since 1963 and have renewed my ST I was just opening a debate to see if people thought the adverse publicity (mumerous threads on here) would affect the sales against the feel good factor of promotion. Delighted to see posts about new ST holders and nobody would be happier than me to see the ground full and rocking!
  17. With all the complaints on here and in the press re: No renewal letter or email encouraging continued support for the club No early bird incentive Large price increase Loss of concession 60-65 (that's me!) No half season tickets Installment plan difficulties I wonder if it's possible that we will end up with fewer ST holders than last year? I'm not convinced the attraction of championship will bring in many newbies or bring back some of the strays.
  18. How many of our games will have walk ups anyway. Surely not the derbies (skates, seagulls, reading) or the games with perceived troublesome away supporters (cardiff, west ham, millwall, charlton, leeds) ?
  19. For the Old Firm read Man u & Chelsea! In the 19 years of the premiership : Man U have been won it 12 times, runners up 4 times Chelsea won 4 titles runners up 4 times Arsenal won 3 titles runners up 5 times So mainly a 2 horse, occasionally a 3. Not that different to the rest of Europe
  20. Was the first time at the Guilhall Soton in 1966, that was the first for me.
  21. When I started I think we had Dennis Holywood & Stuart Williams (Welsh international?) as full backs.
  22. I have sent you a pm
  23. jonb I was going to send you a pm about IOW but you don't seem to have the facility, can you send me one with your email
  24. Thanks I started giong to the Dell 1963, on the wall behind the goal Milton Road. Sydenham-Paine-Davies were our Holy Trinity, if only we had a defence then!
