Smart DNS / VPN no longer working for me using Overplay, says I am Geoblocked on laptop and just doesn't load on iPad (which has been very poor pixelated quality over the last week or so too). Contacted Overplay but they are being pretty useless saying they are aware of an issue, it is being dealt with but they have no ETA on how long it will take to fix. Cant help but think that is the standard response they are giving at the moment to keep people paying for their service a little while longer when they know that there isn't anything they can do if AJS have decided to no longer allow people to use this service (as they have problem got a lot of stick from Sky). I have told them I want a refund and will only continue to pay for their service when they sort it out as I am paying them for something they are not providing at the moment and I can use Google Chrome Hola for free (which although it worked ok this morning, is now not working). Kind of regret thinking it would be a good idea to pay for the annual subscription to make the cost of footy cheaper as I think it is going to be difficult to watch using AJS from now with them closing down all routes of masking your IP

My email back from support at Overplay reads as follows: "At present aljazeerasport isn't supported. We're investigating into it from our end. There is currently some issues ongoing with the internet backbone where our servers are located in Egypt. We're investigating alternatives for rerouting around the problems at present. However, we do not have an ETA on it.... blah blah blah" So looks like it could be an Overplay issue which isn't good. I have turned on my second (unreliable) laptop and starting to use Hola which is working fine. Shame you cant use Hola on the iPad!

I only use it on my iPad so I need overplay sadly but not very impressed today. I think the servers they use in Egypt are running incredibly slowly so I get about 5-10 seconds of poor quality visual then the Quicktime player loading screen constantly. I can still hear the sound but cannot see the picture. Frustrating as hell. I have emailed Overplay to see what they suggest but I only have one working server address for Egypt (from the 4 they have given me) and the quality of the picture on this one is ****e

Anyone else watching it via iPad today? Watched the Man Utd game earlier on and watching the Arse game now, quality of the stream is not great. Could this be to do with the Egyptian servers? Keeps dropping out and picture is akin to the free streams we used to watch last season, not the HD kind we have been used to

Ah bugger! Does that apply if you hook up a HDMI out from the laptop too? Or is it only encrypted to stop that through the AJS iPad app?

So I purchased myself one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dock-Connector-to-1080p-HDMI-Cable-Digital-Adaptor-for-iPhone4s-iPad2-3-/171119843060?pt=UK_iPad_Tablet_A_V_Cables_Adapters&hash=item27d78996f4 an adapter that plugs into the charger port of the iPad and enables you to connect an HDMI cable into the iPad so I could plug it into my TV and hopefully have HD quality viewing on my 46" screen. When I plug it into my iPad it comes up fine, I can see the iPad main screen with all my apps but as soon as I click on the AJS app, it just shows me the AJS logo and although I can hear the sound, I cant see a picture. Anyone know why this might be and if there is a way to fix it? I don't mind watching on the iPad but it would be the cherry on the cake if I could stream it through my TV via the HDMI cable.

I have: * The large mirror with the team names, score (and if memory serves as it is in the loft now) a picture of the FA cup in the middle. It's about 30" x 30" * The decorative plate * Black mug with the squads signatures * Numerous thick plastic carrier bags (which aren't really strong enough to hold anything now!) with the FA cup and squad names on it * Couple of rulers somewhere * A Sammy Saint (in the yellow kit) clay wall model although not sure if this was specifically to do with the FA Cup final * Think my dad has the Apron somewhere still too * Some rosettes * The retro 'man bag' too with a picture of the game which I used to keep my lego in as a kid * Think we have a smaller mirror too Probably a few other bits and bobs too. Can probably safely say I have the most memorabilia from then because even though it was 6 years before I entered this life, my Dad seeing an opportunity to make a bit of money and being a fan too (as well as a friend of Nick Holmes) went out and purchased a s**t load of memorabilia and sold it all in the hype that surrounded us winning the cup to pay for him and my mum to go away on holiday. He kept quite a few bits for himself too thankfully! He has told me the story many times of how after he sold it all, he changed the money he made up into £50 notes and hid them all around the house for my mum to find. She found a couple and was ecstatic as to how much he had made from it only to keep finding more and more £50 notes around the house!

Thank you Millbrook, glad someone remembered I did in fact say I think it was BS but wanted someone to check SSN as I didn't have access to a TV! And no Shurlock, it is not the same mate. I don't have 'form'. 'Form' is reserved for those posters (like Glasgow) claiming to be ITK, starting whole new threads for their BS or claiming things will definitely happen. Taken it mate. It may be money down the drain but that is preferable to seeing the smug grin on my mates face with a fist full of cash saying "I did tell you..." like he did when Adkins ended up at Reading. I have offset it (just in case) by putting a tenner on Liverpool so I make £20 if they nab him. Of course if he goes elsewhere or stays put I've lost out but I got a free £10 bet with Sky so only really put £20 of my own funds into it.

He knew he'd sign for WBA even when odds were slashed on us signing him and there was no talk of the Moses link anywhere. I believe at the time odds on us (which were not even published anywhere) were around 85/1 to sign Moses by calling up Sky Bet. Kinda wish I'd taken a punt on it now! Part of me didn't want to believe him as he can be a bit of a wind up merchant from time to time and I didn't wanna was £20 at his expense but having seen the article and also seen what FF said, wish I'd done it now!

You don't need to register another account. Go into settings and then iTunes & App stores, from there click on your Apple ID, click 'view Apple ID' sign in with password and it will show a little GBR flag. Go in there, change it to Egypt, download Al Jazeera app then once you have done that you can go back in carry out the same steps and change it back to GBR. I contacted the Overplay (people who provide the SmartDNS) by their 'live help' button on the left side of the screen and said I cannot get it to work on iPad and they advised me to download the app 'OpenVPN'. They then sent me some files by email (make sure you ask for Eqypt server VPN file), once you have the attachment of the file type they send in email to you (easiest to access your emails from your iPad) it gives you the option of opening it in OpenVPN app. Log in with your Overplay details and you'll see when connected 'VPN' next to the Wifi logo on the top left of iPad. You should then be able to sign into the AJ app and watch. If you find it easier and don't mind posting your email address on here, download the 'OpenVPN' app on your iPad and I can email you the attachments I used. On a separate note, since messing around with all these DNS, IP, VPN stuff (which to be fair goes over my head!) I have noticed my PS3 is now not connecting to the internet, anyone else had this problem? I've only changed the details on my laptop and iPad as I wasn't fussed about watching it through my PS3 and don't know if it is just a coincidence as my PS3 has connected to the internet since I changed the details last Sat but it is now not working and don't know if it is to do with this changing DNS malarkey? Any help would be appreciated as I really want to watch Breaking Bad on Netflix but as PS3 cannot find an IP address, it wont sign me into the PS network???

Don't worry, I have found it, albeit commentary is not in English. Anyone know how to change commentary to English (if possible) on the iPad? Picture quality is top notch though!

Anyone trying to watch the Chelsea v Villa game on AJS tonight? I am watching it on my iPad but when I click on the link for the game, it is taking me to the Arsenal game?? Anyone else have this problem?

Victor Moses anyone? Odds have apparently been slashed on us signing him? I know that could simply be down to the fact that more people are betting on it with Punch going out on loan but, young, British, hungry... fits the mould and lets face it, unless a lot of injuries and not including cup games, he wont play this season for them. My guess is we will see Sinclair or Moses possibly coming in to replace the departed Punch. It's been covered but Punch was one of our best attacking options last season and whilst a few new additions may have put him down the pecking order a little, he could still have done a job for us from the bench this season so IMO we need to replace him. I think we ideally needed another AM before this news of Punch going out. I think it is critical now.

I like to think of myself as fairly switched on and not too bad at computers but a few of you have made it sound as if it is child's play setting this up. I was up till 5am this morning trying to get this sorted including spending an hour on their 'live chat' online assistance which was absolutely ****ing useless by the way! Their operators took 5 minutes to respond to your question and assume that you have a doctorate in IT with how they talk to you. I eventually insisted that they cancel my subscription to Overplay which I had just signed up with as I was getting nowhere and getting more and more frustrated. Tried that. I get lost at the point where it says I should be changing my 'local area connection' as I am connected through a Wireless network connection (Virgin Media) so my local area connection and local area connection 2 are not being used? When I click on the wireless network connection it doesn't give me options to change IP numbers or anything. Problem with this (correct me if I am wrong) is that I wont then be able to watch it on my iPad which is the main one for me. Does this mean that I wont have to fack around with entering in different codes, switching DNS's and messing around with IP's. I'd happily pay a bit more per month to just have something which does it without messing around as I am clearly not technical enough to work out what to do. I am having the same problem as someone has mentioned above though on my iPad, it say authentication failed or something.
