  2. Portsmouth FC are in serious trouble... I work at the FA and on the agenda for next Monday morning is a joint meeting with FA and Premier League Officials at Wembley Stadium in order to discuss their immediate future. The finances at Portsmouth are shrouded in mystery, to say the least, and various personnel from the club including CEO Peter Storrie, Sueliman al–Fahim (not currently at the club, but his role in the financial affairs is to be looked at) and Ali al–Faraj. Auditors from Deloitte Touche are being called in by the FA to go through Portsmouth's finances 'with a fine tooth–comb' and charges (including jail terms) could be given if they cannot account for where the money has gone (if it was ever invested in the first place!) Should the club go into administration, which is very likely, the club will be deducted 20 points – 10 for actually going into administration and a further 10 for their financial problems to date (such as twice not paying players on time). KPMG would then be employed as administrators in the hope of finding a buyer. One has to be found and all debts cleared before they can start the 2010–11 season (most likely, in the Championship). If a buyer is found, and pays off the debts or agrees to a refinancing deal (which would involve selling all/part of the land at Fratton Park) then the club will be given permission to play in the Championship. If not, Fratton Park will be sold to the Council for a small fee (as it would be categorised as a 'going concern') and Portsmouth would have to restart from the Conference, ground–sharing with Havant & Waterlooville. However, they could only do so if Chester went completely bust and applied to join the FAW (Football Association of Wales) and were given permission to play in the Principality Welsh Premiership, groundsharing with Airbus (as they would not be allowed to use The Deva Stadium). Fingers crossed!
  3. Ditto. Such a sweet shot!

  6. Were not the only club who dislike the fishy ones.. James C (Manchester United fan) says... Surely going to the games would help the club overcome their financial troubles. If every fan lost faith then it would be a certainty that they would go into administration. Of course they rely on financial backing but ticket sales create a lot of revenue for the club. Posted 18:50 3rd December 2009 Billy Gaff (Vauxhall Motors fan) says... Hope that the points deduction they get is going to be like Southampton's - ie points off next year if they get relegated this season (what am I saying IF! its WHEN!) Portsmouth are making a mokery of the Premier league. Posted 18:50 3rd December 2009 Chris p Bacon (Birmingham City fan) says... So Gordon Taylor believes "That is what life is about in football, paying wages of the players."? Funny, because I thought football was about the joys and sorrows of the game, the passion of the fans, the artistry (or otherwise) of the players? Nice to see Taylor being honest for once about his mercenary ways. Posted 18:39 3rd December 2009 Bcfc ... (Birmingham City fan) says... Kick them out the premier league, there ground is division 3 standard and all this dodgy take over and board activity will certainly put them into administration! bye bye pompy pompy bye bye! wooo Posted 18:20 3rd December 2009 Tony Robbins (Stoke City fan) says... All you Pompey fans laughed when it happened to Saints, now you are going to plumett like they did. It almost a carbon copy. Saints had a great season, the following season reached the FA Cup Final, the following season in Europe, the following season relegated, etc etc, face it Pompey fans, you aint good enough for the Premier league. Posted 18:13 3rd December 2009 Rick Pannett (Manchester City fan) says... Im sure the players will severly suffer.. may lose their homes and even not have money to feed their families.. what not having another 40k added to their millions that month. Posted 18:07 3rd December 2009 Paul Best (Manchester United fan) says... That's what you get for buying a trophy. Serves themselves right.
  7. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5743633,00.html Professional Footballers' Association chief executive Gordon Taylor is concerned by the reports, telling Sky Sports News: "You can understand much better problems in the Football League and lower down. "Chester City, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Watford - players have shown a great deal of solidarity and sympathy and understanding and deferred wages. "But if that is happening in the Premier League I'm sure it is not good for the image of the game and if it is the case it is not going to be highly thought of at the headquarters of the Premier League either. "There can't be any good reason in the Premier League with the money they enjoy from television income alone, never mind sponsorship. "That is what life is about in football, paying wages of the players. "I thought this had been solved with the change of ownership at the club a few weeks ago. We had this earlier in the season."

Then I remember the time I went to the QA in C*sham and on my way past the shops, an old boy ran over to me (in my blue flamed Saints away shirt), called me a ****in scummer and tried to gob on me.. Being 14 years old, I ran all the way uphill to the hospital. I hope the dirty old **** is no longer with us!
