  1. Remind me how many games he has started in place of the player I mentioned.
  2. You're entirely missing my point. Its not so much getting all the players that needed to be replaced. Its adequately getting players in key positions that most need to be brought in. The manager identified his priorities and we didn't get those. Instead we prioritised spending £12M on a player in a position which Adam Lallana seemed to be being groomed for all summer. If Mayuka is a replacement for the RM we were after then ok, though I see him more as a replacement for Billy Sharp (saying that I think he's our best option at RM). And Rodriguez for £7M, one for the future but I will always question that outlay given the relative paucity of funds spend in other more key areas.
  3. Yep. We're left with at least one CB who is only of Championship standard, a RM who barely played for us in the Championship promotion, a left back who can't defend and an overweight holy goalie.
  4. Why have you left bits out?? Was it deliberate? Said he wanted a LB (had a bid fail for one); didn't get one. Said he wanted 1 or 2 CBs; also said he wanted them before the season started; got one just as the window was closing. Said he wanted a RM with pace (had a bid fail for one); didn't get one.
  5. Incorrect TDD, but good try.
  6. What have first team selections and tactics got to do with it? All summer long Adkins kept stating that he wanted 1 or 2 CBs in. We got one, and we failed to sign a winger and a left back which he wanted; so I don't buy the whole "I'm happy with the players" line, if he actually said it. If he did say it, he clearly was lying, as he didn't get the sum of players that he wanted.
  7. And I've heard that from other sources too, independent to that (one of whom I know for a fact has ties to the club). That NA submitted a list of transfer targets and that he got none of them. Is it true? I've no idea. But I don't think its an idea to scoff at and dismiss out of hand when you clearly don't know either way, and when there is clear precedent with our record transfer signing from the summer.
  8. I voted for Craig David.
  9. Why is it such a silly suggestion? Ramirez was quite clearly not an Adkins signing; when news was initially leaked to the press that we were in for him NA admitted he knew very little about it (or indeed the player) but it sounded like a very interesting move.
  10. What a tremendous accolade. I think you could also rephrase it as "Yoshida is the least sh*t of our defenders atm".
  11. Not sure FF will share that sentiment!!
  12. Tommy Widdrington.
  13. Bloody hell, is that still going?! I was on that when the internet began...
  14. Not so much, no. I just find your relentless wind-ups and mentioning "yo-yo strategy" 100 times a day a bit boring and sad. Although I imagine you find yourself very funny, which is most odd. Quite why anyone would put that much effort into trying to annoy people is bizarre; still, you seem to enjoy it, so do carry on with your tedium.
  15. Why? Its true for players; they often reach a certain level that's too high for them and sink back down to lower leagues where they flourish. Why so different for managers?
  16. You really need to get some better material. And learn the ins and outs of your tedious wind ups a little more, too.
  17. So you pray that we won't stay up? Good work.
  18. So basically its not a yo-yo strategy at all. The intent is to stay up; but if we don't, the intent then becomes to get promoted again. Revolutionary. Jesus; you don't even comprehend your own dull windups.
  19. He was superb; and goodness knows how good he could have been were it not for injury. I was in the front row of the upper tier at QPR when he had an absolute blinder; scored both our two goals and rattled the post late on with a long ranger that would been the winner. My view of it was aboslutely picture perfect! I noticed him outside St. Mary's for the Fulham game; it looks like he's associated with a football agency who represent a number of minor Saints players.
  20. David Hughes; Jeff Kenna; Neil Maddison; Tommy Widdrington; Matthew Oakley, amongst various others who came through and played a season or two for the first team, didn't make the grade at Premier League level but went off to make hundreds of appearances in the lower leagues. Not bad a period which was considered the weakest in terms of our ability to bring through first team players.
  21. Its all the Northam's fault really. Them and Guly.
  22. Correct Nathan, that certainly does argue your point.
  23. "People"? One person mentioned his accent; one. I don't think there's a huge outbreak of anti-geordie sentiment about to break out, Dave.
