The idea of a membership is to gain priority for tickets over those who aren't season ticket holders.

Once the ticket office gets the next batch I can see them continuing down the same path of STHs until wednesday 22nd then members until 27th for general sale, as they have no sale deadline.

The sale of tickets would have been much slower had it been restricted to a ST and a number of away agmes, then a lower bracket of away games on several different days. As the club stated on the OS they HAD to sell these tickets as fast as possible to enable the next allocation and ST holders first is the quickest way of doing this.

"Under normal circumstances we would look to reward regular away travellers with the first allocation. HOWEVER, due to the late arrival of the tickets, and the fact that we MUST sell these tickets quickly in order to secure the second allocation, this cannot be done" There's your answer.
