Thanks for all your feedback guys. To answer some of the questions: 10p a text is because of the low numbers that would sign up, it could be lower, it could be higher, but it would only cover costs. If you're not sending that many texts it's hard to find a decent spend. The lowest I can find is 6p a text and that's sending thousands and thousands a week, which we obviously wouldnt do. You're all right of course, I wouldnt bother using the service either as I have internet on my mobile... but being a bit of a "geek" I wasn't sure how many other people do what I do, so was only one way to find out really. Cheers all, now I know not to waste my time

With the greatest of respect, PB, it's not a "crap" idea if every club offers the service already. If anything it's "pointless" if there's not enough take-up, hence the poll.

just been playing it since 10pm solid, great game so far.... a little slower paced than the first one

I was fairly put off by the original GOW but never really able to put my finger on why, until I started playing gow2 and realised it was the pacing and the story that was lacking (imho) from the first.

"Aquired" today, plays very well and much better paced than the original that I wasn't overly impressed with. Cracking visuals

Thanks for the feedback so far, this is exactly the reason for running this poll. We would make very little money from it and really wouldnt bother unless enough fans wanted it.

We are contemplating launching a TXT alert service for Saints fans, with a slight difference. Firstly, the service will be prepaid, you will purchase a bulk of messages first. We would like to do this to combat the reputation of other services that keep hitting you with messages and billing you. Secondly, as users you will be able to choose the types of alert you want, whether you want all news and goals, just goals in the game, or even just HT and FT score. We need quite a few interested to break even, so really we're putting a "feeler" out to see how many of you would be interested, based on the methods above. Costs of text's would be (probably) 10p each. If you are interested in the txt service, please choose "yes" on the poll, feel free to choose "no" if you're not interested. Thanks.

Well the purpose is really to push the "Watchdog" feature of the website. There are a few similar websites already, but none with this feature, and those do very well so i figured I should build this one and see what happens.

You're making assumptions about our decisions. I never said that I didn't think there was a problem and I never said the forum hasn't died down. In fact, both myself and granty have both said the forum is less busy than before, however, we feel the quality of the saints forum (because lets be honest, that's all that matters) has improved by weeding out a lot of the **** that was on there before. Frankly we could give a rats arse about The Lounge and The Muppet Show et al, lets remember, they only exist to keep off-topic stuff off the main forum. Perhaps I was wrong to type "no" as a simple reply, however this question has already been asked before on numerous threads, and I get a little tired of answers the same questions, especially when the decision has been made and we certainly wont be changing the decision any time in the near future. Lastly, as for not willing to listen and discuss your opinions, that's exactly what I'm doing, it's just that the answer is "no" (as I said originally), and without resorting to name-calling
