yeah i sorta had the same feeling, i only realised that was "it" when the reward popped up.

I appreciate everyones input, even if i appear not to. The main problem we have with altering the benefits for non-paid members is that the paid members would be perfectly in their right to say "ive paid for the privilege of x,y,z and now they are getting that too". If anyone has any sensible suggestions that could help improve the forum without compromising the services offered to paid members then we're happy to listen

Ironically, doing what you suggest also often gets us branded as "powercrazded gimpoids". As far as moderation goes, no, we're not online 24/7, yes there will be times when no one is around to moderate. We get approximatley 30 to 50 reports a day of posts, so it is well within reason that some will slip through the net, this one however didnt! Any racist remark, implied or otherwise, will be removed and the author infracted. If it doesnt happen right away it's because we don't know about it. If we are posting on a thread and it's still there, it's most likely we haven't read the whole thread and are just giving our input to the topic. We don't deliberatley ignore any posts that deserve infracting, we just sometimes don't get a chance to do it right away or perhaps overlook it. PS. this threads done.

No, we have no power to alter the amount. Equally, I don't agree with some of the implications on here that what we are doing is in any way underhand, for 2 reasons. Firstly, we actually provided instructions on how to cancel your subscription if you so wanted to when we first launched the forum and secondly we've never pretended the service is anything else than a subscription.
