Starting to get a bit of a foothold now
-
We look disorganised barely strung two passes together so far
-
Giving them too much space already
-
Those goals where so important though without his contribution we would have certainly been relegated

Bloody hell it would be nice to win the first game of the season for once! Come on saints! Can't even remember when we last did..... Oh well at least we have an Excellent record against Everton

Yes hopefully we suprise everyone and finish tenth or higher ie anywhere in the top half of the table that would be an amazing achievement. -

So does that mean we can finally judge Ralph as a manager on what this season returns? -

We didn't do that well with them though scrapped 15th -
Yes I agree to a certain extent, to sum it up it is good that they are raising awareness (along with all clubs) but what they are doing is a bit of a token gesture and lacking effectiveness. They aren't doing any frontline work it seems although saints do more than some clubs.
-
Couldn't agree more if they engaged in meaningful stuff that made a real difference to real people's lives it would be better, this is a start i guess though nd not knocking it but like you say it's always the easy way.

I can only comment on my own experience at St Mary's but I haven't experienced any direct discrimination in the stadium but there is yes a lot of generalised discriminatory language from shouting fans, I've heard "get up you f!#kin f!go#t!" Or f**king Qu##r A lot when an opposing teams player is rolling around injured. And like people say the Brighton chants aren't going to disappear anytime time soon by the few morons who can't see what an obvious and lazy joke it is like Brighton have never heard that one before! I think a lot of it is unfortunately the culture of football chants and it will take some time to change if at all. Also not all gays are feminine and all lesbians masculine like the media in particular TV likes to show you, a lot simply blend in with the crowd to use a better expression so you would never know one way or another, unless they are holding their partners hand, and most people are wise enough to not take the risk & know that's unfortunately asking for trouble even in this day and age where you'd think people have moved on. I guess that's something opposite sex couples do take for granted every day the freedom of public affection.

Yes definitely I'm not saying the shirt isn't a positive move but it's probably the easiest option for the club, I quite like the shirt as a one off in a so garish it's good way
-
Tbh I would rather they did some actual worthwhile work alongside young minority groups it might just be enough eventually for the first premier League player to come out which would make a huge difference in changing people's perceptions a young person might think they can actually be welcomed in a traditionally "man's" sport. let the players get to know about them on a personal level and their experiences in life rather than fake shirt wearing business statements about how much they care
-
Totally agree just will be annoying if he's the business and we can't keep him but that's life!
-
I get why we are getting what looks like a quality player in on loan but it's always disapointing if he plays well and ends up being a valuable part of the team when we have no way of making it permanent
-
He has huge potential don't get me wrong but It's unlikely he is going to come straight into the team and be a double figure goal scorer. We saw from Che that it can take some time to adapt and develop the skills and confidence needed for the premier League. So that leaves us relying on who up front? Che and tella? Che and dare I say it........ Long? 😱

Hope we don't end up with Sorloth the poor man's Ings.... we can do better surely? https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/19499329.reported-southampton-target-alexander-sorloth/
-
Exactly this probably someone completely underwhelming with an obligation to buy
-
Well this is the weakest we've been for some time so based on that our usual 15th-20th it all depends on wether we get a decent replacement for ings, we only scraped 15th with ings so it's not looking great is it? He basically kept us up, Come on saints suprise me!
-
Maybe although I'd be surprised if they would want obafemi as they know Ralph isn't keen on him already combined with his questionable attitude/work ethic. He isn't anywhere near AA and he's had premier League experience so that gives me hope that AA can adapt to the league
-
We will end up with AA, paying over the odds for him with the 40% sell on fee to Newcastle, around 22 million. Still a bit of a gamble as it could take some time to get to grips with the speed of the premier League and do we have time for that?
-
Shame the club don't bite the bullet to secure a deal for Abraham instead of pursuing the cheap option. 20 million plus one of our existing players. Would they want anyone though? Can't see any of our players getting into their first team
-
Seems he left to villa in his words as they had a stronger direction of where they want to be as a club.... Is that code for they offered me more money? It is true they have more money than us and bigger fan base... Good luck to Danny, hopefully he can deliver the goods for them or things could turn nasty If he has a baron spell.

Cos there valuation is crazy... Crazy to gamble that much on a player unproven at this level.
