  1. Hello all

Big problemo... i have been tasked with creating a DVD slideshow with 12 pictures that will loop continuously... problem is, I don't know how or where to start.

Creating the slideshow and then having to transfer it so that it is compatable with a standard DVD player is the problem I'm having.

Does anyone know a program out there where I can do this? Or does anyone on here have facilities or expertise to make this DVD? I have the Ulead DVD workshop trial version, but it will only let me make something which is 10 images long.

Have to have this done very soon so time is of the essence... can anyone help!?!? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease

  2. It's a myth that managers destroy the finances of any club. they're not the ones ultimately signing the cheques. In Pompey's case the villains are Storrie and Gaydemak

Storrie and Redknapp are culpable, IMO. Redknapp giving the nudges, Storrie the winks and between them a few brown paper bags...

  3. thing is with crouch...he is unique really...a decent target man who is pretty darn good with the ball at his feet..

sure he has been crap at pompey, but thy were playing him as a lone striker...that i not his game really (like rasiak)...he did well for us when he had quick players around him pulling defenders around...crouchie does get you 15+ goals a season really...

Personally, I Think Arsenal have missed a trick..they are after a new striker and he would fit in perfectly with the players they have IMO

Wouldn't say he's been 'crap', TDD... He's been ok, underperformed a little maybe but like you said, it doesn't help with the team disintegrating around him.

He's been awesome of England though, and he really is a worthy international footballer.

  4. Yep if our first 11 is something like:

    Davis

    Murty Thomas Perry Harding

    Lallana James Gillett Mills

    Rasiak Paterson

Then our second would be something like:

    Bart

    Thomson Lancashire Wotton Molyneux

    Gobern Schneiderlin Pulis Holmes

    John White

That second line-up makes my skin crawl if I'm honnest.

My heart skipped a beat after seeing that!

Bloody hell, imagine Thomson, Lancashire, Molyneux and Bart in the same defence :o

Of that team, there are probably only two or three who could step up and provide adequate cover... and that's not alot over a 46 game season (exc cups)

The real difference between CCC and L1 is not the quality, its the size of the clubs in the divisions IMO.

  5. All the more reason to build a decent squad, d*ck the lot of them and go straight back up IMO.

At the moment I see a slightly worrying resemblance with 05/06. Selling a couple of decent striker (DMG and Saga / Phillips and Crouch) hanging on to a top 'keeper (Davis / Niemi) and a few old favourites (Rasiak, John, Gillett / Prutton, Oakley, Pahars). Then add a few bargains (Harding, Murty / Hajto, Belmadi) and hope to go up on the basis that this league is crap and we will walk it.

We're still 4 wide midfielders, 2 central midfielders, 2 centre halves a right back and a striker short of a complete squad IMO.

I would agree with you there... thing is... we may have a decent first 11 if all our fit... but we have no depth to cover if we have a spate of injuries.

Yes, it is another rung down the footballing ladder but I don't think there is a massive gap between the CCC and L1. See recent promotions/relegations as statistical evidence.

  6. "Ian Bell still owes me a day of my life back for batting like a woman in Chester-le-Sreet a couple of years ago. He is the slowest run maker I have ever seen."

    From 606 Boards..

LOL, this is so true. Always felt that about Ian Bell, soooooooo frustratingly slow.

  7. another good innings from Carberry yesterday, maybe the ashes is too soon for him but if he carries on with this form he will surely be in contention for the next series

Let's face it, Bell is a never will be, Carberry is a quite possibly. Why don't we give an unproven yet hungry player a chance at this level instead of letting them knock around in what is effectively our 'B' team for a few years until they go stale (or ripe enough for the first squad, according to the selectors.)

Big case in point is probably Dimi... I think the selectors certainly missed his prime by about 2 years or so... Still, he's there or thereabouts now, but England fudged around for along time with crap like Solanki etc instead of picking players on their performance.

Y'know, I never understand all this 'developmental squad' crap... just more positions for ECB overlords to justify theirs and their mates jobs.

  8. Surely some of the psycho's on here who would have stalked him for the past couple of months would have seen him talking to a Saints representative, somewhere?

My reckoning is we probably approached but were rebuffed. Doesn't the statement come from Exeter, and not from Tisdale anyway?

  9. Corp, I bet you will buy none of those players you have listed. Stop playing FM and making up fictional transfers.

    Time for you to remove your head from the Southsea shingle and admit;

You are interested in a player released by Crewe.

You are interested in a 3rd division french player.

You are interested in a UAE player.

You didn't want Paul Hart as manager but because of the uncertaintity, you could attract no-one else.

You still have absolutely no idea when your new floating, flying space-age stadium and training ground will be built. You still have no idea where.

You are about to sell the one player who might just be able to save you from relegation.

You are still heavily in debt and the plug could be pulled at any minute.

Dr Al-Fialka may not be all he is cracked up to be.

Quite frankly, you are mess, and it's about time you admit that.

As for me, I take no joy in your predicament. I might have a giggle on here but I don't mean it, especially after the experience SFC has just had. Though we have a genuine billionaire with seemingly sound judgement, you are trying discredit him and say that he won't spend any money? How long has he been in the job? How long has Pardew had in the job? We'll sign players and we'll probably open chequebook if need be, I've no doubt about that.

The agonising thing for you guys is that we rebuilding, whereas the bloodletters at Portsmouth (Storrie... what a **** that bloke is sanctioning first the overspend, then the firesale) are crimping as much as they can from the squad in preperation for ... well, I don't even want to think about it and it must be the same for you, too. You are selling because the plug can be pulled at any minute, in your heart of hearts, you know that.

Corp, I do believe the fat lady is clearing her throat for the encore...

  10. apparently, the good Dr IS a billionaire and the 14th most powerful arab in the world..

ffs, im even embarrassed for them

He's gotta have some whack attrating a 3rd division french footballer and a player released by Crewe to don the famous blue. Maybe they could take on Pulis and Wotton to complete the set...

    Big Lol's @ Portsmouth.

  11. Is it the one where he follows them for a season?

Yeah... he decides to follow them for one whole season to every game. An amazing journey... I still retain a soft spot for Hellas and its been a couple of years since I last read the book.

And I find myself hating 'The Donkeys' (Chievo Verona) with an intense passion, too. Strange, but once you read the book, you kinda understand! Bloody small-time Veronese upstarts...

  12. Noted, I think I will add it to my next batch of Amazon purchases! Thank you.

That's exactly what I had hoped to hear because, whilst I find the story of Romario et al enlightening, it's always good to dig deeper and find out a little more than the most successful footballing exports of a particular country. Having said that, Garrincha's story I'm sure is an interesting read. Didn't he have a problem with his legs when he was younger? They were bowed by a disease?

I still haven't seen anything on Argentine football yet, other than Maradona's autobiography which was a good read but a little one-sided and loud...

  13. Oh God, I think whilst we are on the subject I bring up one of the most infamous books on Italian Football.

The Miracle Of Castel Di Sangro.

Truly, utterly, unbelievable from the first page to the last.

The one on Hellas Verona is also brilliant... I think it was done by Tim Ryan, can't remember the name of it though..

  14. http://www.toroclub.it/efila.htm

Not dated, but it doesn't look up to date. I would imagine it's probably still a wreck. :-(

Ah, I do like those kind of books. Might be tempted to read Tor and Gol, the german and spanish versions, I'm sure they are an equally interesting read too.

Brazilian football.... an insight, that must be, er, interesting!

Seeing as we've somehow morphed onto football books, I am now tempted list and recommend some from my extensive collection. Many, of which, has probably prolonged my insomina as opposed to have helped cure it...
